The much awaited Zee Mahrashtra Kusti Dangal commencing from 2nd November to 18th November to be telecasted on our very Zee Talkies now has the glamour of the Marathi film industry! Out of the 6 team owners 3 are from the Marathi film industry which include; Swapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar & Nagraj Manjule! Swapnil Joshi’s team is ‘Vidarbhache Wagh‘, Sai’s team is Kolhapuri Mavle & Nagraj Manjule owns the team ‘Veer Marathwada‘!
The rest of the teams; ‘Puneri Ustad‘, ‘Mumbai Astra‘ & ‘Yashwant Satara‘ are owned by Shantaram Manve, Rakesh Dhake & Purushottam Jadhav respectively. Nagraj Manjule said that he is very happy to be associated with this initiative & he believes that this mega tournament will bring our tradition sport of ‘Kusti’ in focus on a big level!
Swapnil Joshi believes no matter which teams & which doesn’t, ultimate the victory will be of the ‘Kusti Sport’! Sai Tamhankar shared her childhood connection with the sport of ‘Kusti’. She said as she grew up in ‘Sangli’ where the sport was played almost everywhere, she had always been fascinated by it! Now as a team owner she is both excited & nervous about what happens in the competition!
