Over the years Swapnil Joshi has created a chocolate boy image for him through many of his superhit romantic movies. With ‘Mogra Phulaalaa‘ the romance continues but this time he doesn’t play a usual chocolate hero but a very believable middle aged man who is unmarried for a long time. He is completely under his mother’s (played by Neena Kulkarni) control.

This film marks Marathi debut of popular Hindi TV actress Sai Shakti Anand. She plays the role of a single mother & love between her character & Swapnil’s chracter seems to be main conflict of the film! The complexity between all our relationships whether it’s with our mother or other family members & friends is evident in the trailer of the film.

Even though Neena Kulkarni’s character seems to be against the idea of her son falling in love with a single mother, she isn’t shown in bad light. The film understands how a mother only wants the best for her child & she hasn’t been shown as a villain. ‘Mogra Phulaalaa’ is a film that seems to have a very mature outlook towards love & relationships it seems to present all of that in a light-hearted subtle way.

While our audiences regularly watch films with all the passion, they are not really aware of the world behind the camera in films! As there are not many Marathi films that show this world through films. And hence Shashank Ketkar & Mayuri Deshmukh starrer ‘31 Divas‘ is dealing with a unique subject with the right blend of entertainment.

The trailer of the film introduces us to an aspiring filmmaker played by Shashank Ketkar who is looking for an opportunity. But he faces a huge personal obstacle in his journey. Yet he overcomes it & decides to make his film in an extremely unique way.

That way as depicted in the trailer is the idea of preparing for the shoot for 30 days & then shooting the film in just one day! Hence the title ’31 days’! This idea sounds very interesting & makes us excited for the film. While we aren’t sure of such real acts of making cinema in one day in India, in Hollywood such attempts have been made recently!

Zee Marathi’s Majhya Navryachi Bayko has reached high TV ratings from the very beginning of the serial. The characters of Radhika, Gurunath, Shanaya & others have made a bond with the audiences. Some time ago another interesting character of Soumitra was added in the scheme of things!

Soumitra has been trying his best with his unusual tactics to make Gurunath realize his mistake. Soumitra has figured out that Shanaya doesn’t really love Gurunath but she loves his money. So separate Gurunath & Shanaya Soumitra is himself trying to impress Shanaya with his wealth! From taking her to a lavish dinner to gifting her a credit card Soumitra is slowly making Shanaya fall for him!

Not many times we see audiences getting connected with supporting characters in a serial. Zee Marathi’s ‘Majhya Navryachi Bayko’ is a healthy exception. The audiences are involved & interested in the supporting characters as much they are bothered about the lead characters. As we all know this serial is mainly about ‘Gurunath’, ‘Radhika’ & ‘Shanaya’ but equal importance have been given by the audiences to the characters of Revati & Mr. Gupte!

From many episodes we have been seeing how Revati & Mr. Gupte fell in love with each other. At first Revati declined Mr. Gupte’s proposal as she couldn’t get over her anger against men in general. But Radhika & others finally changed Revati’s decision! Soon in the coming episodes we’ll be seeing Revati & Mr. Gupte getting married!

Rasika Sunil is becoming popular nowadays with her new serial “Mazya Navaryachee Baayko”. This is Rasika’s first TV serial and audience seems to love her spontaneity and energy. Rasika was earlier seen in a Lavani of “Poshter Girl” and her two films will be releasing shortly- Bus Stop and Baghtos Kaay Mujra Kar. Marathistars.com spoke with this young actress about her role in this serial.

How did you get this serial Majhya Navaryache Baayko?

This is a very interesting tale. I was celebrating my birthday when I got a call from the production house about this audition, which were held second day. I got about my selection next day and I was on the sets very next day shooting for this serial. This happened so suddenly that I still can’t believe that I am part of this serial.

Tell us about your role:

I loved the role when I heard it for the first time. I personally feel that this girl Shanaya is very real. She might not fit into a traditional morally upright women portrayed in our TV serials. However, she has her own views and ways. I could relate to her as the girl represents our generation completely.

How is your working equation with Anita and Abhijeet?

It is absolutely fun. I am junior most in this team. Anita and Abhijeet are working in this industry for so many years, I can learn so much from them. We talk and discuss about so many things. They keep playing pranks on me, and yet they both pamper me as well.

Tell us about your fitness mantra?

I thing eating right is the most important thing. Portion control and eating at the right time ensure that you remain fit. Taking time for the exercises and following a proper fitness regime are very important.

You come from a family of highly educated family. How did they support you when you decided to foray into acting?

I was into singing for many years. I have done live concerts with Ajay Atul and also did playback for Ajintha. When I was in college, I decided to participate in the acting workshops. After doing some theater competitions at college level, I became passionate about it. My mother was very keen that I should learn some form of art. So, I learnt classical music for more than seven years and completed my Sangeet Visharad. So, when I decided to shift my focus on acting, my parents supported my completely.

So, does that mean singing has taken a backseat?

Not exactly! I think that I might be more passionate about acting. However, singing will always remain close to my heart.

What are your hobbies?

Nowadays I am spending all my free time on the social media. I also like to write Marathi poems in my free time.

Majhya Navrachi Bayko will be seen exploring this plot. Abhijit Khandkekar, Anita Date and Rasika Dhabadgavkar will be seen in titular roles in the serial that will be telecast on Zee Marathi from 22^nd August at 8:00pm.

It is a story about the married couple Radhika and Gurunath. The two have been college sweethearts and have migrated to Mumbai from Nagpur. Guru is highly focused on his professional growth, while Radhika is a dutiful housewife. Post migration they had a humble beginning in Mumbai, but now Guru’s business has expanded enough to call him a successful entrepreneur. Now they live in a swanky apartment and also have the luxury of having domestic helps for various chores. The entrepreneurial success has changed Guru as a person, but Radhika is the same devoted housewife. She doesn’t believe in changing herself only because of the newfound wealth. Her love for her husband and their boy Atharva knows no bounds. The simple, well-mannered nature of hers has won the hearts of not only her close ones but also the entire colony in which she lives.

But the now changed Guru has started finding his wife uninteresting. He is of the belief that there is nothing wrong in changing oneself if the circumstances become rosier.A female colleague named Shanaya has caught his fancy. A career focused woman, Shanaya has the knack of getting things done through people. She knows how to use people for her own gains. She is similarly using Guru and has turned the straight forward young man into a nasty ‘Gary’.

Radhika is unaware of this relationship between the two as she is naïve enough to believe that her husband is faithful to her. She is of the strong belief that he is completely incapable of cheating on her. The revelation comes as a shock to her. But rather than getting distraught she resolves to lay bare the true side of Shanaya to her husband and win him back. Will she find success in this resolve of hers? What plans does Radhika chalk out? Who all helps her in this endeavor?  ‘Majhya Navryachi bayko’ is going to be a fun tale about all this and much more.

Abhijit Khandkekar will be playing Gurunath, while Anita Date will be seen in the role of his wife Radhika. Rasika Dhabadgavkar will be portraying the role of Shanaya. Arun Nalawade, Suhita Thatte and Shweta Mehandale will also be seen in prominent roles. The screenplay has been written by Rohini Ninave and Abhijit Guru while the director is Kedar Vaidya. Tejendra Neswankar of Trumpcard Productions has produced this serial.

‘Majhya Navryachi Baayko’ will be telecast on Zee Marathi at 8pm from 22^nd August.
