Drought is a major issue facing by so many villages in Maharashtra. Various NGOs are helping drought hit families by various means. Great actors Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure have also started NAM foundation to help drought hit families. They have contributed very much effort in that. Taking such efforts forward The Maha Fashion Foundation hosted charity fashion show named Milap at Poona club. This appreciable initiative was taken by Mr. Laxmikant Gund; Founder President of Maha Fashion Foundation to preserve the Maharashtrian garment culture, designers showcased beautiful Maharashtrian traditional clothes. The revenue raised from this event will be utilized to aid farmers and their families who are faced by the challenging drought conditions in villages.
Well-known designers Radha Mane, Naaz Shaikh, Priyanka Dubey and Vishwajeet Ghorpade showcased their fantastic collections at the event. Marathi celebrities Adinath Kothare, Smita Gondkar, Sanskruti Balgude, Namrata Gaikwad, Vijay Patkar, Vipul Salunkhe, Shweta Pagar, Sid Juvekar (1st runner-up, Mr. India Manhunt) walked the ramp. Vishal Sawant was choreographer of the event.
Different collections were showcased by every fashion designer. Such as –
‘Timeless Glory’ – superb collection of designer Radha Mane whose showstoppers were Sid Juvekar and Smita Gondkar.
‘Dark Cherry Maharashtrian style’ – fantastic collection of designer Priyanka Dubey whose showstoppers were Vijay Patkar and Shweta Pagar.
Designer Naaz Shaikh and Vishwajeet Ghorpade presented a range of rich ethnic wear for which Vipul Salunkhe, Namrata Gaikwad, Sanskruti Balgude and Adinath Kothare were the showstoppers.
Through this show Maharashtrian fashion and fashion designers got platform to promote and develop them.
