After witnessing the biopics on the lives of Late Yashwantrao Chavan and a Megsaysay award winner social worker Dr. Prakash Baba Amte, now it’s time to see a Marathi film on the life of late Gopinath Munde, the dynamic leader of BJP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
An announcement of lead role to be played by Sharad Kelkar was made today. Sharad was recently seen in Nishikant Kamat’s Lai Bhaari in a negative role. “I’m very happy to do “Sangharsha Yatra, it’s a very big opportunity and really glad to be part of the team, also I’m honored to portray Mundeji, as it’s a biopic, research is an integral part of it and so I’m also giving my best by watching videos and doing research of Mundeji and trying to adopt his body language and behavior” said Actor Sharad Kelkar during the announcement. The film will be directed by Sakar Raut.
The movie Titled “Sangharsha Yatra” will trace the life of Munde, who came from a humble background. The movie would focus on how a shy child overcame the obstacles in his personal and political life to rise through the ranks. Considered a prominent OBC leader in Maharashtra, from 1971, to June 3, 2014 when he died in a car crash in New Delhi.
It is an Om Siddhivinayak Motion Pictures production, presented by BJP Chitrapat Union and produced by Sandeep Ghuge, Suryakant Baji, Mukund Kulkarni & Sanjay Singh Suryavanshi The film, which is in the final stages of drafting will go on floors in few months and will be released by 2015 end. The movie would also have a character depicting, the late Pramod Mahajan,who was Munde’s charismatic brother-in-law. Other cast of well known artistes from Hindi and Marathi film industry will be part of this memorial movie and the talks are going on to finalize the cast of this film.
