Several films based on the theme of the world of crimes and the police department in search of the culprits behind them have been produced so far. The canvas of these films is usually based on the sensational drama involved in the story of the film and the accurate presentation of the happenings therein. An exciting new Marathi feature film based on a suspense thriller theme titled as ‘Sutradhar’ presented by Swayambhu Arts is poised for a release soon. The entire story of this film focuses over the happenings occurring in a single day which can be termed as a unique dimension of this film. A combined effort of producing a film by Ramesh Patil, Milind Salvi, Umesh Mahadik, Yash Shetty, and Dhiren Popat, ‘Sutradhar’ is directed by Pratik Kadam. The film is expected to release on 30th August.
The upcoming Marathi feature film ‘Sutradhar’ is based on a single play of gambling involving a turnover of 2000 crores, 8 different countries, 6 individual characters, 1 winner and finally the single plotter of the conspiracy. Most amazing aspect of the story is that this single brain behind the conspiracy, the real ‘Sutradhar’ as it is called in Marathi, never reveals his own identity throughout even after turning the tides of this game according to his own priorities no matter whether they defy the interests of the puppets involved in the game to eventually lead it to the ultimate end perceived by him alone even after exposing those involved in the plot before the world at large. Few young boys and girls get kidnapped during the wee hours of the midnight and there begins a ghastly game full of blood and horror, one that is never thought or heard of happening earlier. This game that manifests into a gambling activity involving thousands of crores of dollars across several countries begins its bloody course in Mumbai. This game brought several questions on the forefront and also entrusted the task of seeking answers for them on the shoulders of a man who was otherwise not related in any manner whatsoever with all these happenings. Not only did the Mumbai Police or even the world of crime and their warlords were taken aback by the shock they were to confront but the whole state machinery in itself was overwhelmed by this deadly spell and the evil shadow cast over them. With such a sensational story is coming the upcoming Marathi feature film ‘Sutradhar’.
This exciting theme that arouses curiosity constantly and yet continues to captivate the audiences has been written by K. Aniket and the screenplay, dialogues and cinematography too has been done by him only. This is the second film of director Pratik Kadam who made his directorial debut successfully through his previous suspense-horror film ‘Aeik’. Pratik Kadam and Suraj Singh are the lyricists of this film whereas they have been sung in the voices of Aby Fizardo and Anand Menon. The music of the songs has been composed by Anand Menon.
A fleet of competent artistes like Chinmay Mandlekar, Vinay Apte, Alka Kubal-Athlye, Aditi Sarangdhar, Sushant Shelar, Purva Pawar, Aby Fizardo, Bhushan Ghadi, Nayan Jadhav, Punam Jadhav, Sunil Deo, Pradeep Patwardhan have played several characters in this film whereas Yatin Karyekar has made a special appearance in this film. Other artistes like Shekhar Phadke, Kamlesh Sawant, Swapnil Jadhav and Vikas Patil too shall be appearing in the guest appearances in this film. Various other crucial responsibilities for the making of this film like editing (Harshad Vaiti), art direction (Mahendra Shivmangal and Appa Raut), Choreography (Dilip Mestry), Special Effects (Sumedh Valke), Background Music (Mahesh Naik), Sound Editing (Loken), Make-up (Abhay Mohite) and Costumes (Pratibha Gurav). The production manager of the film is S.V. Nandagale.
The investigative mechanism of the government that is leaving no stone unturned to trace the criminals after discovery of the crime being committed, the threads of evidences being discovered by them after painstaking efforts and a bloody rapid race to save as many lives as possible in the minimum elapsing time are the awe-inspiring elements that are blended together perfectly in the upcoming Marathi feature film ‘Sutradhar’ to be presented before the terrified eyes of the audiences amid the silent darkness of the cinema halls filled with breathtaking events happening on screen.
