Directed by young director Sakar Raut ‘Sangharshyatra’ is conceptualized & produced by ‘Om Siddhivinayak Motion Pictures’ & ‘BJP Film Union’. The producers are Suryakant Baji, Sandeep Ghuge, Mukund Kulkarni & Raju Baji. The film is written by Viraj Mulye & Vishal Gharge. The film has a ‘Powada’ written by Shahir Moreshwar Meshram & composed by Aniruddha-Akshay. This ‘Powada’ is sung by popular singers Adarsh Shinde & Aniruddha Joshi.

Moreover Amruta Phadanvis, wife of respect CM Devendra Phadanvis has lend her voice to the title song of this film. This title song is wriiten by Mandar Cholkar & is composed by Shrirang Urhekar.

The film was supposed to release previously. But due to some errors it didn’t get the censor certificate. Now after the errors have been rectified ‘Sangharshyatra’ has been granted the censor certificate clarified director Sakar Raut & now it’s set to hit the theatres all over Maharashtra on 14^th April.

Sangharshyatra, a bio-pic on the great leader late Gopinath Munde is all set for a release on February 19. The first look of this film was recently held in great style with the presence of the cast and crew. The film stars Sharad Kelkar in the lead role along with Shruti Marathe (Pankaja Mude), Omkar Karve (Pramod Mahajan), Deepti Bhagwat (Pradnya Munde).

The film is directed by Sakar Raut  and produced by Suryakant Baji, Sandeep Ghuge, Mukund Kulkarni and Raju Baji and the film wing of the BJP Film Workers Union.

The film highlights the rise of a simple village sugarcane field-worker to the highest corridors  of the Mantralya and also depicts his personal life and challenges faced by him on his every way.

The film was supposed to release on 11 December but Pankaja Munde, suggested a few changes in the script of the film for the betterment of the film which were incorporated duly and hence the release of the film was on hold for a few days.

The producer Suryakant Baji in his address said that in keeping with their social commitment, a part of the proceeds of the film will be donated to the famine stricken farmers of villages in Maharashtra.

The films screenplay, story and dialogues  are written by Viraj Mule and Vishal Gharge.Folk singer Moreshwar Meshram’s folk song is tuned by Annirudh-Akshay, and sung by popular singer Adarsh Shinde and Annirudh Joshi. The CM Devendra Phadanvis’s wife Amruta Phadanvis  has sung the title song written by Mandar Cholkar  and the music is by Srirang Urhekar. The DOP is Sanish Jairaj and Anant Kamath is the editor.

Amruta Phadanvis  said ,” It was my ambition to become a playback singer but I couldn’t make it due to other commitments but when I was offered  this song in the film, it got me all excited and I am happy that I have got this song and I would like to pursue singing rather than composing. ”

BJP MLA Mr. Ashish Shelar said by giving his best wishes for the film that, ” the leader who came from a sugar cane worker farming background built sugar co-operatives and factories, who traveled all the globe and built many educational institutions. We have a lot to learn from his life. The title of the film perfectly suits his life “.

The director revealed that when he conceived the film, it was only Sharad Kelkar  who he thought fitted the best for the title role and hence it was not revealed even in the first look. The make-up artist Pradeep Premgirikar, who made great efforts on the looks of Sharad Kelkar which made Sharad look exactly as Gopinath Munde.

Sharad Kelkar had said, ” I didn’t want to take up the role because I was circumspect that, whether I would match the part but the director Sakar Raut was very persistent. I made him chase around for a month and when make-up artist Pradeep worked on my look,  I gained a little bit more confidence and gave my nod for the role. ”

The film is written by Viraj  Muley and Vijay Gharge including the screen play and story. The rest of the cast includes: Girish Pardesi, Shruti Marathe, Omkar Karve, Deepti Bhagwat, and Preetam Kangne.

The ballads by Moreshwar Meshram Shahir have been composed by Anirudh Akshay and have been sung by Adarsh Shinde and Anirudh Joshi. The song sung by Amruta Phadnvis is composed by Srirang Urhekar and lyrics by Mandar Chowlkar. The DOP is Sanish Jayraj and editing is by Anant Kamath.

The film is likely to be a great inspiration realising on 11th December 2015.

The news about the biopic on the late Gopinath Munde, titled Sangharsh Yatra, is doing the rounds since few months. But not many details have been disclosed about the movie till date.

So, here is Raju Baji, Vice President of the BJP Chitrapat Union, the producers of the film, sharing more details about Sangharsh Yatra.

When did you think of making a biopic on the late Gopinath Munde, Sangharsh Yatra?

We started shooting from April this year. We didn’t think of the biopic when Mundeji passed away because, obviously, our state of mind wasn’t such then. But later on, we thought that as he has done a lot for us and others, his name should stay immortal. When we were thinking as to how we can give a fitting tribute to him, we thought that making a film on him is the best option. People should know his good deeds. Our intention is to show his life struggle, work, his thoughts, the condition of his parents, etc.

Normally, biopics are made years after a personality passes away. But in this case, you have come up with a biopic quite soon after the passing away of Mundeji.

We were eager to showcase his life struggle to the people. That’s the reason why we started working on it soon.

Will the movie focus on his life since childhood or only his political career?

We will be showing his entire life, right from his childhood days. The film will portray real incidents from his life, exactly the way they happened. We discussed a lot with his family about the various instances from his life about what exactly he did for the society, even when they were not in power. Likewise, we researched and made the film. We have made a biopic like a biopic.

Any close friends of Mundeji that you have focused on?

Yes, we have. Mundeji, Pramod Mahajan and Vilasrao Deshmukh were the closest of friends, right from the college days till the time they entered politics. We have focused on this aspect too.

Mundeji played a big role in the satta parivartan in 1995. So, have you also shown any opposition leaders in the film?

Yes, we have shown opposition leaders. The film will surely feature Munde saheb’s role in the satta parivartan and how it happened.

What was the reason for zeroing down on Sakar Raut as the director?

The thing is that we have no such experience in films. I am only the Vice President of the BJP Chitrapat Union. As far as Sakar Raut’s selection is concerned, I have personally seen him work on the sets of his films, Hatke Love Story and Shivya. His film Kalakaar is already released. After seeing his work, I felt he would be able to handle a biopic well. He is also my close friend. There are other capable directors too, but it is good to give preference to our close friends for such a project. It is all about fate.

How was the experience of working with Raut’s Team SR?

Sakar has a completely young team. They do such beautiful work, without any greed for money. They work wholeheartedly. I have observed them on sets.

This biopic is for a noble cause. So, are you also concerned about the film’s box office success?

We have left that completely on Sakar. As I said before, we don’t possess much knowledge in this arena. We are totally dependent on Sakar. We feel whatever he is doing is good.

Not many people would know that wife of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is a qualified singer. Not just that, Amruta Fadnavis is now all set to make her commercial singing debut in the movie Sangharsha Yatra.

She has rendered her voice for the title song of the movie, which was recently recorded at Mumbai’s Yash Raj Studio. The film is a biopic the on the late BJP leader, Gopinath Munde and is directed by Sakar Raut and executed by his Team SR.

The filmmaker also has a couple of more movies in his kitty: Shivya and Hatke Love Story.

This is not the first time that a singer is making a Marathi film debut in a movie by Team SR. Earlier, Abhijeet Bhattacharya had debuted through their film Kalakaar while Palak Muchhal, Nakash Aziz and Armaan Malik in Hatke Love Story. Although Javed Ali has sang in their film Shivya, it wasn’t his debut.

Ever since BJP Chitrapat Mandal and Om Siddhivinayak Motion Pictures announced the Marathi biopic on the life of Gopinath Munde titled Sangharsh Yatra, there was immense curiosity as to who will play the popular late leader on screen.

The suspense was finally broken recently by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Phadnavis during the launch of the film in Mumbai. “The role of Mundeji will be enacted by actor Sharad Kelkar,”he announced.

Kelkar, who was present at the event, said, “I am happy to be a part of SangharshYatra and its team. It is my great honor to play a person likeMundeji on screen. As research plays a big role in this film, I have been watching videos featuring Mundejito learn his mannerisms.”Kelkar was well-appreciated last year for his villainous role in the blockbuster Lai Bhaari.

Phadnavisspoke about Munde’slife. “There are many reel life heroes but Mundeji was a real life hero. He was a common boy who went on to become the Deputy Chief Minister only and only through hard work and later, a Cabinet Minister at the Center.”

Citing Munde’s achievements he said, “When people were scared to even utter a word against the mafia, he bravely fought against such evil. He also played a big role in the sattaparivartan of 1995. There are so many inspirational events in his life that would be difficult for the writer of the film to decide which to include. I feel, if we don’t bring such real stars in front of the youth, they will never understand their importance.”

RaosahebDanvePatil, BJP chief and Minister of State who was extremely close to Munde, got nostalgic. “I have spent 37 years with Munde. I have already seen the events that will be shown in the film. I have witnessed his Sangharsh Yatra from start till the end.I still remember how he used to come in ST bus to meet me as he didn’t have a jeep then. He was with me till 12:30 the day before he passed away.”

SangharshYatra will commence shoot soon and the film is expected to release in December this year.

An announcement of lead role to be played by Sharad Kelkar was made today. Sharad was recently seen in Nishikant Kamat’s Lai Bhaari in a negative role. “I’m very happy to do “Sangharsha Yatra, it’s a very big opportunity and really glad to be part of the team, also I’m honored to portray Mundeji, as it’s a biopic, research is an integral part of it and so I’m also giving my best by watching videos and doing research of Mundeji and trying to adopt his body language and behavior” said Actor Sharad Kelkar during the announcement. The film will be directed by Sakar Raut.

The movie Titled “Sangharsha Yatra” will trace the life of Munde, who came from a humble background. The movie would focus on how a shy child overcame the obstacles in his personal and political life to rise through the ranks. Considered a prominent OBC leader in Maharashtra, from 1971, to June 3, 2014 when he died in a car crash in New Delhi.

It is an Om Siddhivinayak Motion Pictures production, presented by BJP Chitrapat Union and produced by Sandeep Ghuge, Suryakant Baji, Mukund Kulkarni & Sanjay Singh Suryavanshi The film, which is in the final stages of drafting will go on floors in few months and will be released by 2015 end. The movie would also have a character depicting, the late Pramod Mahajan,who was Munde’s charismatic brother-in-law. Other cast of well known artistes from Hindi and Marathi film industry will be part of this memorial movie and the talks are going on to finalize the cast of this film.

After knowing that a biopic on the life of late BJP leader Gopinath Munde is in the making, the first thing a person would ask is the name of the actor playing the title role. Although the makers are tight-lipped about it, they managed to add on to the eagerness by some revelation at a press conference in Mumbai recently, which included the announcement of the title, Sangharsha Yatra.

“A lot of actors are eager to play the role of Munde. They have asked us to keep themselves in mind since the character is larger-than-life and powerful. There has been media speculation that actors like Atul Kulkarni, Subodh Bhave and Chinmay Mandlekar are being considered but we won’t say anything right now. The cast of the film also includes topmost actors from Hindi cinema,” said Sakar Raut, director.

But what made the heads turn the most was the revelation of the rest of the characters. “The film will also have characters like Balasaheb Thackeray, Pramod Mahajan and Vilasrao Deshmukh, who were a part of Munde’s life,” said the director but refused to reveal the names of the actors essaying those roles. There was also a question raised about the chances of any real-life politicians playing themselves. Raut responded to this with, “It’s suspense.”

Produced by Om Siddhivinayak Motion Pictures in association with BJP Chitrapat Union, Sangharsha Yatra will focus on the life of Munde from the commencement of his college life in 1971 till his untimely demise in 2014. “The film will portray true feelings and emotions that his supporters associate with him. People will also get to know things like, how he was actually, his favorite food, how he used to prefer his tea and other such things. We will show Munde as never seen before.”

The project will go on floors at the end of February 2015 and will be shot in Mumbai, adjoining areas of Maharashtra and Delhi. The tentative release date is fixed as December 11, 2015 since Munde’s birth anniversary falls a day later. The cast and crew details of Sangharsha Yatra will be revealed at the end of January. Before the release of this film, Raut’s other two films – Shivya and Hatke Love Story – will be released.
