‘Girlz‘, a spin off cum sequel to the superhit Marathi franchise ‘Boyz’ is all set to entertain the audience from this Friday 29th November! The teaser, trailer, promos, songs of the film have created a huge amount of buzz among the audiences! There’s also lot of curiosity about the three leading ladies in the film! Anvita Phaltankar plays the ‘Rumy’ character in ‘Girlz’! Or fondly teased as Mummy or Kaku in the trailer of the film! She clearly stands out with her comic timing and energy in the trailer and songs of the film! And to freshen up our audience’s memories she had already entertained us in the Ravi Jadhav film ‘Timepass’ where she portrayed the character of ‘Chanda’!

Timepass 2

Ravi Jadav is a star director of marathi cinema. He has only given superhits to the marathi film industry. Natrang, Balak Palak, Timepass all were huge hits. But the sequel to Timepass was a bigger hit than all the previously mentioned films. The film rode on the popularity of the first film. It supposedly earned close to Rs. 35 crore at the box office.

Lai Bhaari

Ritiesh Deshmukh debuted in the marathi film industry with a bang. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, Lai Bhaari was an instant hit. It used all the tropes of usual commercial Indian cinema and came up with a winner of a film. The music by Ajay-Atul was also popular. Lai Bhaari also earned close to Rs. 40 crores at the box office, but supposedly a little less than Katyar.

Katyar Kaljaat Ghusli

Again an adaptation of a classic Sangeet Natak, this film that released in 2015 had enthralled one and all. The delectable classical music and the solid story was a winning combination. Great performances by Sachin Pilgaonkar and Subodh Bhave further lend the film the much needed push at the box office. Produced by Zee studios, this film also approximately earned close to Rs. 40 crores at the box office, but supposedly a little less than Natsamrat which also earned from shows in US and other countries.

Natsamrat

The Nana Patekar starrer melodrama adapted from a seminal play by the created a furor at the box office at the beginning of the year. The story of a retired thespian being ill-treated by his own children touched the heart of Maharashtra. Nana Patekar gave one of his best ever performances and impressed one and all. Produced by Great Marathi Entertaiment, Fincraft Media and Gajanan Chitra and distributed by Zee, Natsamrat was till a few months back the highest grossing Marathi film with a collection of approx. Rs. 40 crores.

Sairat

Even two weeks into its release, Sairat still has the whole of Maharashtra under its spell. People are still queuing up outside cinema halls in every nook and corner of the state. Within 2 weeks itself it has broken the all-time record of a marathi film’s collection at the box office. The epic love story with a tragic end has struck a chord with the classes as well as the masses of Maharashtra. Ajay-Atul’s music is superhit! sairat has the rare distinction of being the film that has won over the critics and the audiences alike. It has grossed Rs. 41 crore till now and the numbers are still pretty much steady. Most trade analysts are not counting off Sairat crossing the Rs. 60 crore mark, with the Rs. 50 crore mark well in sight. This is a massive jump from the second highest grosser of Rs. 40 crore. This shows that the film is working due to its content and not only due to the massive promotions by Zee.

Zee Talkies is leaving no stone unturned for promotions of its “Timepass 2”. After creating sensation on social media, hosting glitzy events for music launch now Zee Talkies presenting Maha Premier of prequel. On 19th April Zee Talkies will telecast Timepass with some added scenes and behind the scenes at 12 noon and 6 pm. This film was also directed by Ravi Jadhav and produced by Essel Vision and Athansh Communication.

The original star cast Prathamesh Parab and Ketaki Mategaonkar and also lead pair of Timepass 2, Priyadarshan Jadhav and Priya Bapat will be seen during this premier.

Zee Talkies launched the music for an upcoming film, ‘Time Pass 2’ called Full 2 Timepass, and it was definitely an evening to remember. The star-studded event witnessed a number of thoroughly entertaining performances by Urmila Kanetkar, Swapnil Bandodkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Mahalaxmi & Chinar, Sonalee Kulkarni among others. Amidst all the highly engaging routines that kept everyone entertained throughout the gala affair, Music director Ajay Atul Director Ravi Jadhav, Swapnil Bandodkar launched the music of the film charming all those present with a preview of the melodious tunes from the much-awaited movie.

Timepass 2 is keeping no stone unturned for it promotions. After running successful campaigns for teaser and poster launch, TP2 team did a grand event for its music launch at Pune. This Ravi Jadhav directed film releases on 1st May and stars Priyadarshan Jadhav and Priya Bapat as a lead pair.

The music CD was unveiled by Ravi Jadhav and Keni in this star studded event followed by some live performances. This event will be telecast on Zee Talkies at 12 noon and 6 pm on 5th April.

The event had some fantastic performances by Hindi and Marathi artistes. The teenage love pair Ketaki Mategaonkar and Prathamesh Parab shaking a leg on Fulpakharu and Kalla was a highlight of this event. Priyadarshan Jadhav’s performance was flawless as usual.

Urmila Kanetkar danced on Panchatund Nararundamaldhar and Natrang while Amruta Khanvilkar mesmerized audience on Shitti Vajali. Swapnil Bandodkar crooned “Mala Ved Lagale Premache” spreading romance in the air.

This week’s major release “Timepass (Tp)” directed by Ravi jadhav has miserably failed to impress the film critics. The film was released across 250 screens all over Maharashtra.

Despite its negative reviews, the film had raked in good earnings. In the first 3 days, ‘TP’, has collected Rs 6.60 crore approx. The previous record for first week was held by Duniyadari (2013).
