After the news of Sangram Salvi & Khusbhoo Tawade’s engagement another Marathi artist got engaged recently. Rasika Vengurlekar aka Renuka from Zee Yuva’s Freshers recently got engaged to the director of Freshers Anirudha Shinde!

It is common knowledge by now that that Zee has come up with a new channel to target just the youth –Zee Yuva. One of their flagship programs is going to be the serial Freshers. As the name would suggest, Freshers is about the life and times of a bunch of young girls and boys who have just ventured into the world of college.

The title song composed by Amitraj, who has given us a superhit song like “Tik Tik Vajate Dokyat’, has already become a hit among the youth. Amitraj, Aarati Kelkar, Harshwardhan Wavare and Kasturi Wavare have sung the song whose lyrics have been penned by Valay Mulgund.

The video gives us a glimpse of the exciting world in store. The enthusiasm and dreams of young men and women; the beauty of first love; the bonding between friends; the video shows us all. The overwhelming feedback on social media is proof enough of the video being gladly lapped up by everyone.

The song includes the seven characters Manva Raje (Rashmi Anpat), Pari Deshmukh (Amruta Deshmukh), Renuka Bhilare(Rasika Vengurlekar), Sayli Bankar(Mitali Mayekar), Nirav Desai (Siddharth Khirid), Samrat Patil(Shubhankar Tawde) and Dhaval Mithbavkar(Onkar Raut).

The brand Zee is synonymous with providing entertainment to the whole country. Over the past 24 years of its flourishing existence, Zee has enthralled one and all with its content ranging from daily soaps to news channels to sports. But for the first time a TV channel in Marathi is being launched specially focused on the youth.

On the rain soaked evening of 3^rd August, the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) hosted a grand pre-launch party for its brand new General Entertainment Channel (GEC) – Zee Yuva. The channel’s first look was unveiled by Sharada Sunder, Executive Vice President, Cluster Head – Regional Channels and Bavesh Janavlekar, Business Head Zee Talkies & Zee Yuva. The evening was graced by the presence of the who’s who of Marathi Television and Film fraternity.

The event commenced with a spectacular human interactive AV which had the audience in awe. The AV traced the illustrious journey of ZEE over the years and also unveiled the launch if ZEE Yuva. The hosts for the event were the always energetic VaibhavTatwawadi and the composed and articulate Spruha Joshi. The two with their lively hosting were crucial in ensuring a smooth functioning of the event.

All the exciting shows on the upcoming channel were introduced to the audience along with its cast. The event also included live performance of title tracks of Bun Maska by Jasraj Joshi and of Freshers by Amitraj. The peppy performances certainly upped the spirits of the audience. The cast of Itech Taka Tamboo (ITT) then had the audience in splits with their live comedy skit.

The programmer Freshers is based on the life of teens who have just joined college and how they come of age in the new world. ShravanBal Rockstar is based onhatke aspirations of the youth and their parents.Bun Maska explores the world through the eyes of a lovestruck, bubbly and extrovert girl, while Love Lagna Locha is about a shy young boy in today’s world where outgoing nature is celebrated. ITT is about the journey of a guy from a superficial global world to a serene and beautiful locale.

The shows despite having youthful exuberance are still rooted in Indian culture and values. Exciting times are surely lie ahead for Marathi television.

Marathi Taraka – a dance and song extravaganza by producer Mahesh Tilekar recently completed its 500 shows. The event was attended by dancing divas- Shridevi and Madhuri Dixit.

Varsha Usgaonkar, Kishori Godbole, Hemangi Kavi, Neha Pendse, Ketaki Palav, BHargavi Chirmule, Kranti Redkar, Shruti Marathe, Prajakta Mali, Sara Shravan, Sanskruti Balgude, Shweta Shinde, Amruta Khanvilkar, Teja Devkar and Prachi Pisat performed on the super hit songs on Shreedevi and Madhuri as a tribute.

Shridevi wished best luck for the dancers and Madhuri won everyone’s heart by speaking in Marathi. Madhuri also performed on her famous “hamari atariya pe” and audience loved it.

The event also had performances by Lalit Prabhakar, Adinath Kothare and king of slomo Raghav Juyal. All the performances were choreographed by Subhash Nakashe and Hitesh Patil.

‘Te 8 Diwas’ is the Deepali Muchrikar’s first debut marathi movie. When we asked her about her excitements she replied, “This is my first movie feeling awesome. I am already excited. Got a chance to work with superb people. All are so good and I had great bonding with all.”

After long time smiling Renuka Shahane is back on screen. It is good news for her fans. Renuka saying about her role, “The character doesn’t set in common rituals. She stays away from home for her career and directly after 18 years she comes for her daughter’s wedding. Even I changed in those 8 days the journey from negative to positive.”

Tushar Dalvi’s character is like gentleman, he shared his experience with us, Tushar said, “Me and Renuka working together after long time. New young actors are there. We had great fun while shooting and it’s very nice and enriching. Wait and watch you will come to know what happen in those 8 days. ”

Now the time has come for the main people of the movie, director and producer. Director Shyam Dhanorkar shared his great feelings while working on this movie with all star cast. He enjoyed a lot.
