Sat Na Gat aims at attempting to present socio-political reality

The Marathi feature film ‘Deul’ earned a sizable success on the box office after winning the national award along with several other awards. Thereafter its next film ‘Bhartiya’ that highlighted the genuine pains and concerns of the people dwelling around the disputed areas attracted the special attention of the audiences and also the film critics. Having produced two content-rich and attractive films thus Devisha films has now come-up with their next film called ‘Sat Na Gat’. Like their previous two films, they have continued with the effort of addressing the social realities through their latest film ‘Sat Na Gat’ too. This film is based on the work of fiction, titled as ‘Sat Na Gat’, authored by famous novelist Rajan Khan and it is release on 13^th September all over Maharashtra.

For the first time, the three leading stars of the Marathi film industry viz. Mahesh Manjrekar, Sayaji Shinde and Bharat Jadhav have come together in this film ‘Sat Na Gat’. Each of these actors is endowed with a unique style of acting of their own and followed by their separate sections of fans among the widespread audiences. Mahesh Manjrekar and Bharat Jadhav have acted together through several films prior to this and Bharat Jadhav and Sayaji Shinde too have played different characters together through many other films but this is for the first time all of these three accomplished actors coming together for a single film. Pakhi Hegade, a popular actress from regional films, is coming before the audiences through a central character portrayed in the film ‘Sat Na Gat’ presented by Devisha films. Renowned actor Mahesh Manjrekar has played the character of a police inspector Asole whereas Sayaji Shinde has played the character of an Editor of a newspaper. Bharat Jadhav, has played the role of a sensitive journalist called, Uttam Wabale. A combined production of Renuka Shankar Mitkari, Ramkumar Gugale and Manoj Gupta, the film ‘Sat Na Gat’ has been directed by Raju Parsekar.

Rajan Khan had written the fiction ‘Sat Na Gat’ in the year 1992. Today, even after a spell of 20 years, the state of society has remained the same. The spicy news of Chief Minister’s village witnessing a brutal rape of a poor Dalit woman spreads like a wild fire through the Taluka, then through the district and ultimately through cities across the length and breadth of the Maharashtra state. Instead of helping that poor woman to get success she fully deserves a cheap politics is played about this while trying to capitalize on that dreadful happening in the social and political circle of the society at large. A completely realistic and psycho-social analysis of this disgusting reality has been made through the upcoming Marathi feature film, ‘Sat Na Gat’.

One more unique attraction of this film is that Nitin Tendulkar, who has established his separate identity as an accomplished poet even while being the elder brother of famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has now appeared before the audiences as a lyricist of this film titled as ‘Sat Na Gat’. Praaveen Kunwar has shouldered the responsibility of decorating the spirited content of these songs using background music composed by him and they have been recorded using the melodious voices of Shankar Mahadevan and Kavita Madhavi. Arvind Jagtap has written the screenplay, dialogues and songs compatible with the original story written by Rajan Khan.
