‘Halal’ is a film that speaks about some unjust customs that have been part of the muslim society. Many women have suffered because of it. Today there are many voices that are being raised against them & at this very right time a Marathi film ‘Halal’ is releasing in theatres from 6th October. This film is produced by National award winner Laxman Kagne & Amol Kagne & is directed by National award winning director Shivaji Lotan Patil.
This film is based on a story written by popular writer & activist Rajan Khan. The film stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Priyadarshan Jadhav & young actress Preetam Kagne in the lead. The rest of the cast includes senior actor Vijay Chavan, Chhaya Kadam, Sanjay Sugaokar, Amol Kagne & Vimal Mhatre. Priyadarshan Jadhav & Chinmay Mandlekar have portrayed very unique characters in this film which they had never played before. Young actress Preetam too has worked hard for her role by living in rural areas to study for her character.
‘Halal’ has been appreciated at different film festivals around the world which include Cannes Film Festival, Maharashtra Rajya Chitrapat Puraskar, PIFF & others. ‘Halal’ releases on 6th October all over Maharashtra.
