Alka Kubal, Prasad Oak, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Sulekha Talwalkar, Ankush Chaudhari, Umesh Kamat, Amey Wagh, Siddharth Jadhav, Sonalee Kulkarni & Sai Tamhankar! Who could have thought that all these above mentioned actors could be working together in a Marathi film and that too a film which isn’t a romantic drama or a comedy but a hardcore stylistic political film! Well the director-writer pair of Sameer Vidwans-Kshitij Patwardhan along with the backing of Zee Studios has made this possible with their new film ‘Dhurala‘!

Currently in a completely chaotic world of politics in Maharashtra a film like ‘Dhurala’ makes more sense than ever! However it will be interesting to see what the pair of Vidwans-Patwardhan contribute to this genre. So far filmmakers in Marathi have mostly sticked to their comfort zones, i.e artists from Mumbai-Pune have hardly focused on rural backdrops in their films, similarly filmmakers coming from rural parts haven’t tried stories set in the urban backdrop much.

But with ‘Dhurala’ Vidwans-Patwardhan have focused on rural politics! From the teaser of the film one can make out that this will be a stylistic commercial political drama about the competition and the games people play in politics! It will be interesting to see how the audiences react to it when they are already much entertained by the current political scenario of our state! ‘Dhurala’ releases in theatres on 3rd of Jan, 2020!

Ye Re Ye Re Paisa worked for quite a few audiences with it’s over the top humour and over stylistic choices from director Sanjay Jadhav. Now the teaser of it’s sequel is out & it’s directed by a different director! Hemant Dhome’s approach as a director might be different from Sanjay Jadhav’s but from the teaser it seems like the tone of the film is similar. Sanjay Narvekar, Anand Ingle & Vishakha Subhedar are repeating the same characters from the prequel.

But instead of Siddharth Jadhav, Tejaswini Pandit, Umesh Kamat we now have Aniket Vishwasrao, Mrinmayee Godbole & Priyadarshan Jadhav! These new characters certainly seem exciting. Moreover director Hemant Dhome’s fascination with London continues! His first directorial film ‘Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar’ was set in London in the second half, his recently announced ‘Jhimma‘ too is being shot in London and now Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2 too is set in London!

The overall chaotic atmosphere seems to be doubled here from the prequel and the new cast is also used to doing high pitch over the top comedies! Popular actor & actor turned director Priyadarshan Jadhav reacted in a very strange way on the ‘Pulwama’ attacks where around 44 CRPF soldiers had to lose their lives. This was a terrorist attack & even a terrorist organisation took the responsibility of the attack.

However Priyadarshan Jadhav posted on his official Facebook handle that he doubts this attack was created by the government. And he even mentioned that every time there are elections we have such attacks.

To this post of Priyadarshan those who are following him on Facebook reacted angrily & which in turn resulted into Priyadarshan removing the post. His later posts show that maybe he regretted his earlier post & it was done in the heat of the moment.

We as common people also need to understand that celebrities are not godly figures & they can make mistakes too or can react emotionally in certain moments. Opposing their right to express too isn’t right on our side.
