Sometimes no matter what one needs to be doing the right thing. Even if you are a bunch of kids are supposed to take on the big bad world of the grown-ups! That’s what the message one can take away after watching the trailer of the national award-winning Nipun Dharmadhikari directorial ‘Dhappa’!

Written by Girish Kulkarni (& also starring him, probably in a cameo) & produced by ‘Arbhaat Films’ Dhappa comes from a team that has given numerous great films to Marathi cinema. However, this is their first venture into the children film genre. It’s always one of the trickiest genres both in terms of the idea & concept & while executing the film with the kids.

Nipun Dharmadhikari made his debut as a director with ‘Baapjanma‘ last year & now his second film is on a completely different subject! The kids in the film look very bright & seem to have performed really well. While Marathi cinema has made many teenage love stories in recent times, ‘Dhappa’ promises to bring back the old school style children film in the mainstream of Marathi cinema. The film releases on 1st of February.

Marathi cinema over the years has always made it’s presence felt at the National film awards. Last year Marathi cinema bagged all the big prizes from best director to best film. This year though we have bagged less awards we have still made our presence felt.

Prasad Oak directorial ‘Kaccha Limbu’ has bagged the prestigious Best Marathi film award. Ravi Jadhav has expressed his happiness regarding the same through his social media handle & has also mentioned that his film was ignored completely at the State film awards! Nagraj Manjule has bagged his second national award for a short film for his film ‘Pavsacha Nibandh’, he was awarded Best Director (Short Film).

Nipun Dharmadhikari too was awarded in an important section. His first film ‘Dhappa’ (he made this film before Baapjanma) has bagged the Nargis Dutt award for best film on National Integration. Along with that Best children film went to Marathi film ‘Mhorkya’, the director of ‘Mhorkya’ Yashraj Karhade also got a special mention for his direction.

Best Editing award also went to a Marathi film called ‘Mrutyubhog’. Best Non-feature Short Film award went to ‘Mayat’ by Suyash Shinde & Best Promotional Film went to ‘Chanderimama’ by Rajendra Jangle.

We congratulate all the winners & we hope our films keep on winning National awards every year & the audiences too get to savour these films in theatres.

Synopsis : This is a Marathi feature film titled ‘Barayan’. 

As the title suggests it is a story or rather ‘Ramayan’ that revolves around the year Baravi (12th Standard).

Most of us in our school life are threatened by this number i.e. 12th standard board examination. The social surrounding of our society these days has given lot of importance to the board examination thereby resulting in unnecessary burden on the student and putting performance pressure on him/her. Parent’s knowingly or unknowingly go with the flow and expect the same from their children putting unrealistic burden on the student. The overall education scenario has become very commercial. If the student does not perform in his 12th than he cannot do anything good with his/her life is a general perception of parents in particular and the society in general. 12th has become a turning point year. If one does not perform in this year than that’s the end of his/her career. Traditional mindset of the society is that Medical or Engineering are the only two major options. The film has subtly but in an ‘entertaining manner’ tried to highlight this aspect of our educational system and how we are becoming part of this. 

The story of the film revolves around incidents based on this one year in the life of our protagonist and his journey to engineering college after that. A story that unfolds various experiences of our protagonist, his learning during the process of him seeking education and identifying his ultimate interest. How his social surrounding is enabling him to grow as a person. The protagonist of the film represents today’s student and the challenges faced by him to understand his passion. 

The story of the film is set in a serene and calm town of Konkan, surrounded by mesmerizing seashore and beautiful fort. It is purely a family drama.

Forbes award winner theatre director & actor Nipun Dharmadhikari is making his film debut as a director with ‘Baapjanma’. This film will be releasing in theatres on 15th September 2017.

Nipun Dharmadhikari, one of the most talented artists working in the Marathi entertainment industry is all set to bring us his directorial debut ‘Baap Janma’. The film is presented by Everest Entertainment & is produced by Sumatilal Shah & ‘Sixteen by Sixty-Four’.

Sangeet Sanshaykallol, a milestone in Marathi theatre will be revived on the stage by Prashant Damle Fan Foundation in a new avatar. Prashant Damle and Rahul Deshpande will be recreating magic of this 100 year old play with their mesmerizing singing.

The Muhurat of this play was performed at Chief Minister’s residence. Actors and technicians from the play as well as dignitaries like Amruta  Fadnavis, Prashant Damle, Rahul Deshpande, Ramdas Kamat, Gauri Damle were present for this occasion.

Sangeet Sanshaykallol created a history with its musical brilliance. The songs from the original play are still listened by the Marathi audience. The play is directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari. Prashant Damle (Falgunrao), Rahul Deshpande (Ashwin Sheth), Uma Palsule Desai (Revati), Dipti Mate( Krutika), Chinmay Pataskar (Sadhu and Vaishakh), Nachiket Jog (Bhaadhavyaa), Neeta Pendse (Rohini and Magha) are playing pivotal roles.

The original play has more than thirty songs, but in the new avatar the play will feature 18 songs. The stage tour of this play will start on 15 April.

Even after becoming a popular household name after Dil Dosti Duniyadari, Amey has decided to keep experimenting. He has already done films, theatre and TV shows, and now he will be seen in a web series called Casting Couch. This will be first Marathi web series.

The web series has been released on the social media platforms like Youtube. The first episode of this web series featured glamorous Radhika Apte along with Amey Wagh and Nipun Dharmadhikari.

The series is directed by Sarang Sathaye. The episode is generally of ten minutes. The script has some good punches, but delivery of these dialogues lacks clarity. The production has really good quality, though sound design can be better.

Amey is natural in this series and comes across with this impeccable timing and amazing wittiness. The audience will surely love the parts when he makes fun of his daily soap career in a lighter way.
