Remember that dance number from Satya- Sapno Me Milti Hai. We bet you will remember the same song after watching Hald Lagli from Nagarsevak. Two side actors dancing on a wedding song, hero and his girl are looking at each other with that doe-eyed romance, local politician entering the wedding hall with all his shaan, dream sequence of our hero and then at the end some fast dance beats and someone beating up are happening simultaneously. All from the Satya song and used as a template for this song.

Priyanaka Nagare and Shyam Thombre are the dancing Jodi of this song and they fail miserably. The dance steps, rhythm and mood even the lip syncing is not proper. The Jodi does not have any striking chemistry and the typical Bollywood style choreography becomes very mundane. Upendra and Neha, the lead pair of the film keep looking at each other, but the very bad editing makes those somber romance moments very sketchy and ultimately it becomes unintentionally funny.

Music is by Dev Ashish and lyrics are by Bipin Dhaigude. The use of typical Hindi words gives a very bumpy effect to the song as it is neither traditional wedding song nor a contemporary song. The music lacks a punch and yet it will be surely become a favorite wedding song for the upcoming wedding season.

Nagarsevak – Ek Nayak Marathi Movie Review :

Nagarsevak is a film that aspires to be many things. An inspiring underdog story, political thriller & a south styled action film. It succeeds in none of the departments. The film stars Upendra Limaye in his most disinterested performance on screen. A brigade of other decent actors from Sayaji Shinde, Sanjay Khapre, Ganesh Yadav, Sunil Tawade to Neha Pendse, too are exploited with poor writing & terrible direction.

The story belongs to Malhar Shinde (Upendra Limaye) an angry young man, who god knows why wishes to be a politician (of course a good one!). But wait before that a statue of an important politician has been insulted resulting into riots in the city. A news anchor (by the way he wears earrings) is discussing the chaos that’s happening in the city (& about to happen in the film) with two politicians (Shinde & Tawade) who are in power & in opposition. Later the news anchor gets kidnapped by Jagya (a side kick of Malhar Shinde) for an unimaginably stupid reason & then Jagya starts narrating the whole story of Malhar Shinde’s life.

The world in this film is a very little place. Everyone & everything seems to be connected. Yes, that is the only sensible theory we can come up with if someone wants to justify the countless logical errors & plot-holes of this film. The first half is abruptly edited throughout. The flashback is extremely unnecessary & later in the second half the flashback ends without solving any mystery (there isn’t a mystery in the first place), rather introducing more confusing scenarios in which the characters keep playing merry-go-round.

The film has Sayaji Shinde as one of the senior politicians. Beneath him is Ganesh Yadav. Now both Shinde & Yadav have their right wing man, left wing man. And all these wing men get their chance to spoil the already messed up narrative. One of Yadav’s wing men named ‘Santya’ is truly a special treat. This whole effort seems to be designed to make us believe that in politics every one double cross everyone, but it all goes in vain.

The romantic angle too is out-of-sync & the character of Neha Pendse has almost nothing to do in the film. The film has late actors Vinay Apte & Satish Tare in small roles. It’s just sad this film would turn out to be the last film for such great actors. The camera angles used in this film are foolishly over creative. Sometimes they are simply hilarious & sometimes pure awkward.

Maharashtra is a state where almost everyone has a political understanding & opinion. We surely deserve much better films based in this scenario. In some of the promotional content of the film, the film was said to be inspired by the popular Hindi film (a remake from south) Nayak. Sadly the film fails in every possible way to project any sort of inspiration.

If at all there’s any positive in this film it’s the character of Jagya. Jagy is the typical ‘Hero Ka Dost’ that can be picked up from any random 90s Bollywood film or recent South Indian formula films.

Overall:

Nagarsevak joins this long list of Marathi films that have released in 2017 & are genuinely unwatchable.

The trailer of Nagarsevak – Ek Nayak. The film stars Upendra Limaye in the lead role and Neha Pendse will be seen as the love interest of this local politician. The hardcore action film is directed by Deepak Kadam and produced by Shashikant Chaudhary under the banners of Jash Pictures.

The trailer shows a shrewd politician (Sayaji Shinde) and how he mocks democracy by winning elections by hook or crook. The hero (Upendra Limyae) stands against him in a local corporater election. The trailer heavily implies that this is a south-Indian style action melodrama. It also reminds us of famous Soth Indian (and later made into Hindi) Nayak. Though Upendra Limaye is a good choice for such angry young man role, he can do better than such melodramatic roles as he has done previously .

The story and screenplay is by Bipin Dhaigude and Abhijeet Kulkarni. The music is composed by Dev-Ashish. The socio-political drama will be released very soon all over Maharashtra.

Nagarsevak- Ek Nayak will be releasing on 31 March all over Maharashtra. The most striking thing about this film is it has a list of impressive villains. The film stars Sayaji Shinde, Ganesh Yadav, Sunil Tawde and Sanjay Khapre in the roles of bad guys. The film is produced by Shashikant and Jayashri Chaudhari.

Ganesh Yadav will be playing role of Datta Shivalkar and Sayaji Shinde will be seen as a local party leader Shetty. Sunil Tawde will be playing an MLA while Sanjay Khapre will be seen as a shrewd party worker. The film is directed by Dipak Kadam.

A film dedicated to all the back-benchers- says the tagline of Satish Motling’s new Marathi movie“35% Kathavar Pass”. Theatrical Trailer of this film has been released recently. The film stars Prathamesh Parab in a leading role.

The film also stars Bhagyashree Sankpal (as Aarti) and Yashoman Apte (as Tanish Kumar) as friends of Sairaj (played by Prathamesh Parab). The back-benchers are enjoying their college life. However, as love interest of Sairaj enters in the college everything changes. Nikita (lovely Ayali Ghiya) a studious student comes in the college and creates havoc in the lives of these three back-benchers. The film also stars Sanjay Narvekar, Madhavi Juvekar, Sushant Shelar, Neha Pendse and Usha Nadkarni.

Marathi Box Cricket League (MBCL) has achieved popularity with their innovative ideas. The third season of this event will take place at Kolhapur from 4th to 6th May. The announcement was done in a star-studded event in Mumbai by Maharashtra Kalanidhi secretary Sushant Shelar. Shreyas Talpade and Dipti Talpade were present for this announcement.

For the first time, cash prizes have been announced for the winners and runner ups. These matched will be played at Shahu Stadium at Kolhapur. There will be ten teams competing in this cricket league: Dashin Mumbai, Shiledar Thane, Ratnagiri Tigers, Classic Nashik, Fataka Aurangabad, Shoor Kolhapur, Kohinoor Nagpur, Ajinkyatara Satara and Dhadakebaj Navi Mumbai has been introduced in this season.

Prathamesh looks at ease in his lover boy image. Ayli looks very dazzling and astonishing in her red dress. The shots with the waves of ocean look very romantic and exotic. The music has been composed by Pankaj Padghan and lyrics are penned by Omkar Datt. The treatment of this song is very fresh like a summer breeze.

We especially liked the wittiness of the lyrics where a guy tells her that he has been buking classes for her and yet he does not know whether he is pass or fail. Too good for a film like this where hero is a student of junior college!
