Mahesh Manjrekar shoots for Ganpati song sung by Daler Mehndi for Marathi film “JANIVA”

The shoot was for the Ganpati song of the Marathi movie “JANIVA” was in full swing at Thakur Complex on saturday where the place was filled up with the buzz of the song “Ganpati Bappa Mourya…. Mourya re Mourya ……” Sung by Daler Mehndi along with the nashik dhol and Saffron turban (Safa as said in marathi) at the full display on the sets.

Traditionally attired Mahesh Manjrekar arrived at the location on time and was seen in high spirits shooting with his son Satya Manjrekar who is playing the lead role of the young protagonist in the movie.

In the chilling heat the saffron colored atmosphere, beats of nashik dhol in the background with a huge Ganeshji idol it seemed like we are in the middle of Ganpati Festival.

Young Satya MAnjrekar was seen enthusiastically participating with his team of young brigade enjoying the beats of the Ganpati song. Producer/ director Rajesh Ranshinge while speaking to press said, “This song is sung by Daler Mehndi who sang in Marathi for the first time and is very important part of the film and creates a big impact in the script,”

Actors Atul Pachure, Indira Krishnan, Kiran Karmarkar, Tv actor Srman Jain will also be seen in the son sequence.

“JANIVA” is a youth centric Marathi movie with a strong social message starring Satya Manjrekar and his new comer co-stars Vaibhavi Sandilya, Anuradha Mukharjee, Devdutt Dani and Sanket Agarwal in the lead along with established actors like Renuka Shahane, Kiran Karmarkar,Indira Krishnan,Salil Ankola, Atul Parchure, Kishore Kadam and Usha Nadkarni. “JANIVA” is produced under the banner of Blue Eye productions and Arvana Productions and produced by Milind Vishnu, Rajesh Ranshinge, Reshma Vishnu and TV actor Srman Jain.

Compelling, profound and complex, “JANIVA” is a contemporary story of a teenager Sameer Deshpande played by Satya Manjrekar who is progressive-thinking, creative, tech-savvy, yet socially responsible and also upholds age-old values like honesty, integrity and uprightness. This bunch of five enthusiasts owns a rock band through which they spread social awareness by new lingo songs which help them in raising funds for different social causes. They also make sure that the fund raised by them reaches the right people without any corrupt interference. Along with the thrill and adventure which is inbuilt in these five acquaintances, the film also focuses on platonic love angle between Sameer and his female friend.
