Keeping promise of providing rare gems from the Marathi theatre Zee Marathi Nakshatra is presenting “Aasu Ani Hasu”, a classic play about a couple’s journey. The play will be telecast on Sunday 22 June, at 1 pm and 7 pm on Zee Marathi.
Vasant Kanetkar, a legendary play-writer started writing this play, unfortunately it remained uncompleted due to his untimely demise. P.L. Mayekar had undertaken this task to complete this play and Mohan Wagh successfully has bought this concept on the stage.
The story is about a couple Dr. Hemant (Mohan Joshi) and his wife Varsha (Reema Lagoo). Varsha thinks her husband is having an extramarital affair with his one of the students. The couple keeps fighting and separates at the end of first act.
The second act starts with the same plot and same charecters. However, Varsha changes her attitude. She does not hysterical, calmly ignores her husband’s infidelity. It is very interesting to see what happens with the couple in the end.
The play is directed by Dilip Kolhatkar and cast includes Vidyadhar Joshi, Rigvedi Mhatre. Music is by Ashok Patki and Devki Pandit has given vocals.
