Govind Nihalani is one of the most iconic filmmakers in the history of Indian cinema. In the era of 70s & 80s Nihalani was one of the torch bearers of parallel cinema in India. Films like Ardh Satya, Aakarosh, Tamas, Party, Thakshak, Dev & many more are considered to be masterpieces of Indian cinema.
In a way it’s Marathi Cinema’s fortune that he has turned towards Marathi. The trailer of the film Ti Ani Itar too justifies his entry into Marathi. The trailer lets us into a situation unalarmingly & grasps our attention. The film stars brilliant actors like Subodh Bhave, Sonali Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, Priya Marathe, Bhushan Pradhan, Ganesh Yadav & Aavishkar Darvhekar.
This film seems to have a strong social message about women safety & gender equality. It’s based on a English play written by Manjula Padmanabhan. The Marathi adaptation & screenplay-dialogues are written by acclaimed Marathi-English writer Shanta Gokhale. The film is set to release on 21st July & the trailer definitely makes it a film that should not be missed.
