Synopsis : Jaggu is facing a major personal crisis, as he can neither fulfill his wifes dream of better prospects nor his mothers hopes to see her grandchild. His wife will only agree to starting a family when they “become rich”, and Jaggu`s job as a recovery agent is far from lucrative.

And then, along comes a bank with an offer he can`t refuse: help them catch businessman Niraj Shah, who duped them of fifteen thousand crores and is now absconding. Assembling a motley team of associates as incompetent as him, Jaggu heads to UK to trap the clever criminal and collect his reward. But can he pull it off?

• The first ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa’ was a hit, did that bring exert pressure on you?

• Is this a proper sequel? Or a spin off using characters from the first film? 

• Tell us about your experience of working with such a huge star cast. 

It was a lot of fun. Every artist has a different sense of comedy, and different comic timing! Every one has different strengths and all of it lead to many layers in the narrative! Moreover all of these artists are a friend of mine, hence our shoot was fun and enjoyable.

• The music of the film has clicked with the audiences. Tell us about the recreation of ‘Ashwini Ye Na’ and about the overall album of the film!

We have experimented a lot in the music. Keeping aside typical sound we have tried to push the boundary. Troy and Arif have done fabulous job, including the background score. I am glad that the audiences have appreciated and loved the recreation of ‘Ashwini Ye Na’! ‘Un Dos Tres’ is a Spanish song that has also worked well and is making everyone dance! Title song of the film is sung by Mika Singh and writer-lyricist Kshitij Patwardhan has written two fun song! We are satisfied to see the great response from the audiences.

• What do you think is essential for a Marathi film to be successful? 

There’s no formula for a successful Marathi film! If the film connects with the audiences I think it is successful! That connection is very important more than the numbers!

Hemant Dhome directorial ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2‘ stars a brigade of talented actors like Sanjay Narvekar, Aniket Vishwasrao, Mrinmayee Godbole, Prasad Oak, Mrinal Kulkarni, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Pushkar Shrotri, Smita Gondkar & Anand Ingle! In a way the film captures the angst of the common man against the system that allows such sophisticated thiefs to get away! The film also gives us vibes of the cult mindless comedy ‘Happy New Year’! While many critics pan such films the audiences love them and over the years a cult following is developed for such films!

Marathi cinema’s love affair with London and England continues with this film. A few recent Marathi films have been shot there and these are definitely good signs for Marathi cinema & one can say that our canvas is getting bigger and wider!

Ye Re Ye Re Paisa worked for quite a few audiences with it’s over the top humour and over stylistic choices from director Sanjay Jadhav. Now the teaser of it’s sequel is out & it’s directed by a different director! Hemant Dhome’s approach as a director might be different from Sanjay Jadhav’s but from the teaser it seems like the tone of the film is similar. Sanjay Narvekar, Anand Ingle & Vishakha Subhedar are repeating the same characters from the prequel.

But instead of Siddharth Jadhav, Tejaswini Pandit, Umesh Kamat we now have Aniket Vishwasrao, Mrinmayee Godbole & Priyadarshan Jadhav! These new characters certainly seem exciting. Moreover director Hemant Dhome’s fascination with London continues! His first directorial film ‘Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar’ was set in London in the second half, his recently announced ‘Jhimma‘ too is being shot in London and now Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2 too is set in London!

The overall chaotic atmosphere seems to be doubled here from the prequel and the new cast is also used to doing high pitch over the top comedies! Hence there would be expectations from the film for sure! Let’s wait for the trailer to know more about the film! Because ‘Abhi toh Party Shuru hui hai’!

After the success of the ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa’ earlier in Jan 2018 the audiences demanded a sequel from the makers! And the wishes of all the audiences who loved the film have come true! While the production team of the film is same, now it has a different creative team. The sequel will be directed by ‘Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar’ fame actor-turned-director Hemant Dhome.

Moreover, the film is written by a new writer this time. Hrishikesh Koli who previously wrote the dialogues for the surprise hit of 2017 ‘Boyz’ is on board. ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2’ is a joint venture by Amey Vinod Khopkar Entertainment, Purple Bull Entertainment, Trance Fx Studios Pvt. Ltd & Panorama Studios.

The release date of the film too is out, it is 4^th Jan 2019! From the teaser poster of the film, one could make out that the film is set in a foreign backdrop maybe in London! It’s exciting times for Marathi cinema for sure as a ‘franchise’ has been created in a ‘heist’ film genre which is not traditionally common in Marathi cinema.
