Well Done Bhalya Marathi Movie Review:

Cricket is a game that the British invented and the Indians mastered, they say. A hangover of the colonial British era, this sport isn’t merely a ‘sport’ in our country. Such is the passion with which it is followed that many people consider it to be their religion. Another countrywide passion of us Indians is cinema. We are a cricket and cinema crazy nation. However, a sports film about cricket is still a rarity. And a good sports film at that even more so. Lagaan and Iqbal are the two that immediately come to mind as successful cricket films. There have been a few other cricket films but none as good as the ones mentioned before. Well Done Bhalya joins the list of those ordinary cricket films who despite being about something the people of our country passionately love, ends up being rather drab and boring.

What you can’t fault the film is for having noble intentions. It takes up the issue of the tribals – the original inhabitants of our country who have been marginalized and exploited for centuries together. Bhalya (Solkar) son of Shukrya (Sanjay Narvekar) is just interested in the game of cricket while his father wants him to take an education help him escape the miseries of the tribal communities to which they belong. Now, every sports film has a conflict between the bully and the bullied. Shukra and Bhalya are quite obviously the bullied, while the local MLA and his son are bullies. The local MLA harbors a hatred for the tribals, for some reason, and his son is part is already part of the cricket. Bhalya plays the sport well, but there is the big issue of giving him training so that he can be a part of the local cricket team, much against the wishes of the Gajabhau, the local MLA.

Though the film has a decent enough plot, the screenplay meanders. The very basic for a sports film is to grip its viewers with the graph of the story. This doesn’t happen with the film. It all feels very bland and boring. The film suffers from lack of detailing and simplification.

In the acting department too, apart from Sanjay Narvekar, none of the actors make any mark. It also doesn’t help that apart from his role of Shukrya there is hardly any other character that is properly developed.

Overall:

A misfired attempt at making a cricket film. It is dull and boring, the worst for a sports film.

This Nitin Kamble directed film showcases journey of father and son relationship. A son who loves to play cricket however, how does it affects his education and his father will be seen in this film.

The film stars Ramesh Dev, Sanjay Narvekar, Alka Kubal, Mitali Jagtap, Ganesh Yadav, Sharad Ponkshe, Sanjay Khapre, Anshumala Patil, Rajesh Kamble, Anshuman Vichare, Namrata Jadhav, Nandkumar Solkar and Saurabh Karwande.

The film is presented by Achintya films and Siddhi Aradhya Films. The film is produced by Chaitali and Amol Kamble. The story is written by Nitin Supekar and screenplay-dialogues are by Nitin Kamble. The DOP is Giridharan, Shanu Singh Rajput and editing is by Praveen Kumar, Sameer Shaikh, and Rahul Bhatankar. The art direction is by Mahendra Raut and makeup is by Laxman Jadhav. The executive producer is Sanjay Kamble. Sanjay Bapu and Shital Pawaskar are marketing head.

The film releases on 18 March all over Maharashtra.

Marathi Filmfare Awards will be telecast on Colors Marathi on 28 February at 7 pm. This is the first year of Marathi Filmfare Awards. The event was rocked by Dr. Prakash Baba Amte as it collected black lady for Best Film, Best Actress (Sonali Kulkarni) and Best Actor (Nana Patekar). Senior actor Ramesh Dev has been honoured with Lifetime achievement award.

The highlight of the event is Sachin Pilgaonkar’s performance. Dance performances by Mansi Naik, Sonalee Kulkarni, Amruta Khanvilkar and Neha Pendse are also very interesting. Other performances include laser act by Adinath Kothare, Vaishali Samant, Kranti Redkar and Bharat Jadhav. The event has been hosted by Pushkar Shrotri and Prasad Oak. Bollywood celebrities like Vidya Balan, Varun Dhawan and Tabu were also present for this event.

Synopsis:

The story of Well Done Bhalya starts on the outstays of village ‘Pali’ surrounded by natured beauty where

‘Bhalchandra’ lives with his people. They all sell fruits, Flowers, Honey etc on Hill Station and Market to earn a living. Instead of taking education ‘Bhalya’ has to work because of his poverty. But in this situation also only a thing of pleasure for him is his passion for cricket

But his father ‘Shukrya’ hates cricket as Bhalya neglects working with him and spends his time in cricket and his father has to incur heavy losses. According to ‘Shukrya’ cricket means for rich society as well as he gets bad behavior from rich society.

In this adverse condition Bhalya continues his love towards cricket. Gradually the cricket
club of Pali noticed Bhalya’s passion for cricket Because of his batting they all come very close to Bhalya. Ignoring all the rules of their club they started to train Bhalya. But the founder of club and MLA Shri Gajabhao dosen’t agree this as he has two obstacle in this political career and his son’s cricket career are Bhaly’s cricket and the other is tribal people and Shukrya has to listen a lot from Gajabhao and when when he comes to know that Bhaly’s cricket is the main reason behind Gajbhao’s anger and that’s only rich society notice BHaly’s tribe, he decides to support Bhalya. So there clashes between two father.

In the pali cricket club Bhaly’s has to face malice who is Gajabhao son. But to see
Bhalya’s batting other players in the club decide to make (by hiding his iddentiey) Bhalya play under 16 team even though he is not a member of the club. In this match Bhalya’s great batting wins the match in very difficult situation.

Mr. Richanr Poal saw Bhalya’s passion and hard work towards cricket in adverse situation and wrote a book named “Wel done Bhalya’…..

The 8th edition of the Goa Marathi Film Festival, an initiative of Vinsan World, was held from 17th to 19th July, 2015 at Kala Academy, Inox and Maquinez Palace, Panjim. The opening ceremony was held at the hands of the CM of Goa, Manohar Parrikar and Girish Kulkarni and Umesh Kulkarni’s ‘Highway‘ was the opening film. In continuation of their support to the festival, Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers was the title sponsor of this year’s edition of the festival..”

This year, the festival saw the premier of three highly anticipated films, Highway, Panhala and Nilkanth Master. National Award Winning Director Umesh Kulkarni’s new directorial venture, ‘Highway’ is a film to watch out for. The film narrates a story that unravels on the Pune-Mumbai highway and looks at situations in a different perspective, showcasing life in the two metros. ‘Nilkanth Master’ is a love story set during the pre-Independence era in Maharashtra, directed by acclaimed film maker Gajendra Ahire. ‘Panhala’, directed by Nagesh Bhosle , highlights the lives of two young couples, each with troubled pasts, who literally crash into one another when their cars meet with a bizarre accident at Panhala, a hill-station in Western Maharashtra.

The festival schedule consists of a selection of critically acclaimed movies of the season comprising of several National Award Winning films such as ‘Court’, ‘Killa’, ‘Khwada’ and ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’, and other entertaining and inspiring movies such as Dr. Prakash Baba Amte, Timepass 2, Dusari Goshta, Happy Journey, Sugar, Salt ani Prem, Sandook, Jayjaykar, Siddhant, Nagrik, Welcome Zindagi and A Paying Ghost.

The special ‘Kritadnyata Puraskar’ was awarded to two senior veteran actors, Shri. Ramesh Deo and Smt. Seema Deo as a tribute for their service in the industry. The festival hosted a workshop on ‘Distributing and Marketing Marathi Movies’ by Girish Wankhede, Proprietor of ‘Entity One’, who are the Knowledge Partners of this festival.. Ramesh Deo Productions and Apar Entertainment are known for making quality cinema. Muhurat ceremony of films Lets Change and Dabba Gul produced by these production houses was recently held in Mumbai. Maharashtra ‘s Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis gave a clap in a small ceremony organised at Varsha Bungalow and the muhurat ceremony of both the films took place. While Lets Change is a Hindi and Dabba Gul will be made in Marathi. Though both the films convey social message they will be presented in an entertaining manner. Director Rohit Arya will be directing both the films.

Marathi film Dabba Gul is based on corruption. While the government is building public toilets but there is a huge amount of corruption in the building of public toilets and Dabba Gul will expose this issue. Along with cleanliness the film Dabba Gul will also put a light on the issue of corruption. The story will be presented through two journalists. Producer Ramesh Deo said, “If there is a will, we can do any work easily. That’s the message we are going to convey through both films.”

Director Rohit Arya informed that we are not trying to preach people but in the film but we are making a masala film in very entertaining style.
