‘सावरखेड एक गाव’,‘ब्लाइंड गेम’,‘सनई चौघडे’सारखे वेगळ्या विषयांवरचे चित्रपट असो वा कादंबरीवर आधारित ‘पांगिरा’,‘जोगवा’,‘72 मैल एक प्रवास’ सारखे सामाजिक विषयांवर स्पर्श करणारे चित्रपट दिग्दर्शक राजीव पाटील यांनी आपल्या प्रत्येक कलाकृतींतून चांगला आशय मांडण्याचा नेहमीच प्रयत्न केला. त्यांच्या अकस्मात निधनाने संपूर्ण मराठी चित्रपटसृष्टीवर शोककळा पसरली आहे. राजीव पाटील आपल्या आगामी ‘वंशवेल’ या चित्रपटासाठी खूप उत्सुक होते. हा चित्रपट घरोघरी पोहोचावा अशी त्यांची इच्छा होती. पंरतु त्यांच्या या अकाली निधनाने वंशवेल चित्रपटाच्या प्रदर्शनाबाबतीत त्यांच्या चाहत्यांच्या मनात संभ्रम निर्माण झाला होता. परंतु राजीव पाटील यांचे स्वप्न असलेला ‘वंशवेल’ ठरविलेल्या तारखेदिवशीच म्हणजेच 18 ऑक्टोबरला प्रदर्शित करण्यात येत असल्याचे चित्रपटाचे निर्माते सुनील मानकर यांनी सांगितले.

यासंदर्भात सुनिल मानकर यांनी राजीव पाटील यांच्या कुटुंबियांशी चर्चा केली असता, त्या सगळ्यांनीच ‘वंशवेल’ हा केवळ चित्रपटच नाही, तर ते राजीव यांचे स्वप्न होते अशी प्रतिक्रिया दिली. राजीव पाटील जरी आपल्यात नसले तरी त्यांनी पाहिलेले स्वप्न पूर्णत्वाकडे नेणे हे आपले कर्तव्य आहे अशीच त्यामागची भावना होती.

चित्रपटातील सर्व कलाकार या दु:खातून सावरत राजीव पाटील यांच्या या स्वप्नपूर्तासाठी पूर्वीच्याच जोमाने प्रयत्न करणार असल्याची माहितीही निर्माते सुनील मानकर यांनी दिली. हा चित्रपट ठरल्या तारखेला प्रदर्शित करण्यासोबतच तो यशस्वी करणे हीच ख-या अर्थाने राजीव पाटील यांना श्रध्दांजली ठरेल अशी भावना ही यातील कलाकारांनी आणि चित्रपटाच्या टीमने व्यक्त केली.

‘अर्चित फिल्मस्’ बॅनरच्या ‘वंशवेल’ या चित्रपटात अंकुश चौधरी, किशोर कदम, सुशांत शेलार, शंतनू गंगावणे, मनिषा केळकर, नम्रता गायकवाड, विद्या करंजीकर, उषा नाईक या कलाकारांच्या दमदार भूमिका आहेत. दामोदर मानकर यांची कथा असलेल्या‘वंशवेल’या चित्रपटाचा कथाविस्तार आणि पटकथा ही राजीव पाटील आणि दत्ता पाटील यांची आहे. वंशवेल हा चित्रपट स्त्री-पुरूष समानता हा विचार केवळ आदर्शापुरता मार्यादित न ठेवता त्याची अंमलबजावणी माणूसपणाच्या विचारातून करायला हवी हा उद्देश देणारा आणि एकत्रित कुटुंब पध्दतीवर सकारात्मकपणे भाष्य करणारा आहे.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar informed everyone on Twitter about the sad demise of Patil, who had recently directed his Marathi film 72 Miles Ek Pravas. Said Akshay, “Just heard about the sudden demise of director, Rajeev Patil. He had last directed 72 Miles Ek Pravas for Grazing Goat Pictures. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Rajeev Patil  won national award for the best director for the same film which also, bagged the best film and actor. People who were very close to Rajeev informed the Film maker to be very honest towards his work and a very down to earth personality.

The Film maker was also planning to remake Jogwa in Hindi very soon. Just 19 hours ago, Rajeev Patil updated his Facebook account’s cover profile with his upcoming Marathi Film Vanshvel’s photo.

Nonetheless, We pray for his soul to rest in peace.

Jogwa had also received a national award.

After taking the world by storm with their first Bollywood Film Production Oh My God (OMG), Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi are on a journey of creating milestones in the entertainment industry with their latest venture, 72 MILES: EK PRAVAS

The film has been shortlisted to be screened at Europe’s No. 1 Festival for Indian Indie Cinema – The ‘London Indian Film Festival’ (LIFF). LIFF will be attracting international audiences for a screening of the film on 20th July in Central London, with support from partners including the BFI, Cineworld, Grange Hotels, ICA, BAFTA, Satyajit Ray Foundation and ZEE TV. Other regional film to be screened at the LIFF are Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali and Urdu all with English subtitles to connect to an international audience.

A hard-hitting, poignant tale of a young boy who makes his journey into self-actualization against the backdrop of a rustic India, 72 Miles Ek Pravas, explores a beautiful, coming of age journey for the 13 year old boy Ashok and the companionable relationships he makes through his journey.

Akshay and Ashvini are confident that their film will touch the hearts of audiences and give them a visual introspect of Ashok Vatkar’s autobiography. Inspired from the novel with the same name, 72 Miles Ek Pravas explores the impact of a woman named Raddhakka, on protagonist Ashok..
