This November on eve of Children’s Day gift yourself and your child the joy of a very Beautiful Child Film ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’.

A film shot in the holy pilgrimage city of Pandharpur, in the core festive time of Ekadashi.
Witness a virtual tour of the holy place alongwith superb potray of simple lifestyle of people and innocence held within them.

A story of 2 kids, a son and daughter who are in age group of 8-10, and are siblings brought in a family which has a old grandmother and mother of the children.
After the death of their father, calamity strikes on family and the mother has to shoulder the entire responsibility of the home and she does extreme efforts to stand to her task.

To support the family in crisis the kids decide to help in the best possible way and try managing a venture shop along with their schooling.
All these efforts are to save the precious belonging The Cycle ‘Elizabeth’ from being sold.

This movie will teach children to be more matured and above all help them to understand the real value of hard earned money.

The bright intelligent boy and the bubbly and sharp girl (child characters) are superbly portrayed.

The movie also gives a message about inequalities and taboo that elders in society carry and how the kids look at that on a equal platform.
It will teach parents that its very essential to be a friend of the child first and then a parent so as the kids can speak openly with them.

Above all the movie focuses on the message that when we are being true and fair, however cruel the world maybe, with our nature and innocence we can transform the same.

Ideologies of newton’s science and forecasting vision of our saints aptly bundled to deliver an impact that we can carry and learn a lot from it.

In these age where kids are so much attached to the virtual world, these 90 minutes trip will make them understand the bonding of friendship, the essence of hard earned money, the hardships which are must to make life understand in all shades and over and above everything, it will make them transform a 360°.

All these years we gifted children with soft toys, gadgets and all they demanded, gift them with this movie and witness a surprise.

A must watch Cinema, and to rate it, 5/5 is what i can say.

Kudos to the child artists and the great efforts of Paresh Mokashi, Madhugandha Kulkarni and the entire team Elizabeth Ekadashi.

Elizabeth Ekadashi, a film by Paresh Mokashi has already created a buzz on various social media sites, has been released in more than 200 theatres on the occasion of Children’s day. More than 450 shows are screened every day and audience already loves this movie. This movie will also be screened at select cities of Gujrat and Karnataka. The movie is produced by Mayasabha and Essel Vision.

The movie does not have any huge star-cast, yet the child actors are the real heroes of this movie. Sayali Bhandarkar kavthekar from Pandharpur and PushkarLonarkar and Shrirang Mahajan have already become favorites. The promos showing Pravachan by Dnyanesh, Zendu’s “Garam Bangadya” dialogue have already made audience return to the theatre. “Dagad Dagad” song is also slowly gaining popularity.

This is Paresh Mokashi’s second directorial venture after Harishchandrache Factory. The story is by Madhugandha Kulkarni and the realistic photography by Amol Gole.

Review:

After his magnificent debut with the classic Harishchandrachi Factory, India’s official entry to the Oscars, there was naturally a keen wait for Paresh Mokashi’s next. The wait is finally over as the maker is back with Elizabeth Ekadashi. Looking at the overall product, we can say that the close to five-year wait is worth. The film turns out to be another simple heart-warming tale that leaves a wide smile on your face.

The story takes place in the holy village of Pandharpur (Maharashtra) where the adolescent Dnyanesh (Shrirang Mahajan) lives with his mother (Nandita Dhuri), younger sister Mukta (Sayali Bhandarkavathekar) and grandmother, after his father passed away few years back. His father had built a unique bicycle named Elizabeth. Dnyanesh and Mukta are literally in love with it.

With his father no more, his family is facing severe financial crisis. His mother needs to pay five thousand rupees to the bank to get her sweater machine back. For this purpose, she considers selling Elizabeth as that would greatly help the cause. But naturally, the kids oppose to the idea. Will Elizabeth be saved?

Over the last few years, Marathi cinema has been regularly churning out simple and realistic rural flicks with strong emotional storyline and characters you easily fall in love with. Elizabeth Ekadashi. also falls in this category. However, it manages to stand apart from most of such flicks due to the utter realism it oozes in literally every frame. The real, everyday scenes of Pandharpur are simply a delight. Therefore, it is difficult to accept that the characters are fictitious.

The film follows a contemporary mode of storytelling wherein the tale is narrated through real, everyday scenarios, which makes it smooth flowing and natural. What is further impressive is that Mokashi clearly steers away from melodrama, for which there was a lot of scope. Hence, there are countless moments where a scene says a lot without saying much.

Coming to the negative points, there is one questionable aspect, which cannot be revealed to avoid spoilers. The entire plot also becomes predictable after a while. But thankfully, you tend to enjoy the predictability as it fills you with delight as you leave the hall.

The only song ‘Dagad Dagad’ by the late Anand Modak is used as the theme and it suits the subject perfectly. There is some fine display of art by the cinematographer (Amol Gole) while the background score too is impressive.

The film is also blessed with excellent performances. In the role of Dnyanesh, Shrirang Mahajan simply wins you over with an outstanding act. Considering his age, he has carried the responsibility with amazing ease. Nandita Dhuri too puts forth a brilliantly believable portrayal of the mother.

Sayali Bhandarkavathekar as Dnyanesh’s sister is amazingly cute. The lady playing the grandmother doesn’t lag behind at all. As Dnyanesh’s friend, Pushkar Lonkar is hilarious! At the same time, he scores well during emotional scenes too. The rest of the actors offer perfect support.

Overall:

Elizabeth Ekadashi is yet another heartwarming rural tale from Marathi cinema. The film stands a good chance of garnering impressive collections at the box office.

This is the cycle specially made for him by his scientist father. He and his sister along with their friends start a game in the local Ekadashe Utsav. Dnyanesh also loves to perform Keertan and he gives scientific explanations through his performances. This film will be releasing on Children’s day on November 14 all over Maharashtra.

The role of Dnyanesh has been portrayed by Shreerang Mahajan and Mukta has been played by Sayali Bhandarkavthekar. Nandita Dhuri and Vanamala Kinikar will be seen in important roles. Other cast includes Pushkar Lonarkar, Chaitany Badve, Durgesh Mahajan, Chaitanya Kulkarni. Ashwini Bhalekar, Anil Kamble.
