Why only hero has to carry the burden of the entire film? Good films are those where all the supporting actors, actresses carry the film along with them.PremasathicominSuun is surely one of such movies. It is a light hearted romantic comedy laced with good performances. Director AnkurKakatkar tries to give a message through this romantic comedy.

The plot of the film revolves around Aditya (AdinathKothare). He marries Antara (Neha Pendse) as per his grandmother’s wishes (Suhas Joshi). Antara has been staying with her maternal uncle and Aunt (Vijay Patkar and Resham Tipnis) However, after marriage next day Antara vanishes with all the jewellery. What happens next is a romantic, funny and slightly thrilled drama.

The film tries to give out a social message in the end. It succeeds in grabbing the attention of the audience and then making them realise about the social evils present in the society.
The first half truly belongs to Vijay Patkar. His acting talent has made this film a good film. Jitendra Joshi once again proves his metal in a negative character. Adinath Kothare seems to be in an OK role. Neha Pendse has done one of the best roles of her career. Her glamorous and girl-next door looks are really good. Other supporting actors have also done very good job.

The music and songs of the film are a huge letdown. Not a single song is good enough to remember once the film is over. Technically, film is good. Audience can watch this film as it surely guarantees some chuckles and a thought-provoking climax. This is a good movie with good message. The film is produced by Anupkumar Potdar, Sanjay Sankla, Aman Vidhare and Mulchand Dedhiya.

Jitendra Joshi hadn’t intended to be an actor but once he entered the field, he made a mark for himself through a series of praiseworthy performances. His versatility is proven from the fact that he plays a period character like Tukaram and at the same time does justice to a villainous college brat in Duniyadari.

In his upcoming flick Premasathi Coming Suun, he will be seen playing a Kolhapuri lad with a touch of humor. The actor gets candid about the film and his career journey in an exclusive chat.

What character are you playing in Premasathi Coming Suun?

I am playing the character of Samrat Kolte Patil. He enters the film after the interval. He is highly influential. He is one of those who rule over their respective areas. Kolte Patil is very rich and has people working under him. He is an aggressive person, who is fond of bai (women) and baatli (liquor). His life takes a turn when Antara, played by Neha Pendse, enters it.

What was the reason for agreeing to do the film?

Acting is my profession and I like playing different types of characters. I like playing Tukaram as well as the one I played in Duniyadari. I also do repetitive roles to run my house. I thought playing the role of Kolte Patil would be fun as there is a section of audience that loves such characters, just like they liked my ‘Mehune Mehune Mehunyanche Pahune’ dialogue. Since the character is from Kolhapur, he has his own peculiarity. I knew that once I enter the film, I won’t let the audience’s attention to drift away from me. Else, if Neha Pendse and a male appear on screen, nobody looks at the male (laughs).

This is a comedy film. So can you recall any funny moment during the shoot?

My first film with Neha was Hu Tu Tu. In one of the songs, I had to grab her. She pointed out that I am holding her like a brother. Then in this film (Premasathi Coming Suun) also I had to grab her. So I told her that this time you won’t feel as if it is a brotherly hold (laughs). But it is all because of the nature of my character in the film. His manner of expressing love is very unusual. If such a character comes in front of me in real life, I will just slap him.

Tukaram has been your most challenging role till date. How did you prepare for it?

I read few books on Sant Tukaram. I also read Tukaram’s abhangas. However, Prashant Dalvi and Ajit Dalvi had written the script so well that there wasn’t much requirement for me to learn something extra.

How would you describe your acting journey? I guess you hadn’t intended to become an actor before.

I had come to Mumbai for a different reason. I wanted to create my own identity. I thought of being a cameraman. I started off by doing a small role in a play. Then I became an assistant director for Satish Rajwade, who was also in his initial days. But then I realized that assisting is a thankless job. Plus, I was facing financial issues at that time. So I started acting in the play All The Best as a replacement. This started off my acting journey and slowly I ventured into films.

What are your forthcoming films?

I am doing Kranti Redkar’s Kaakan. It is complete since 10 months but the release date is yet to be fixed. Four and a half years back, I had acted in a film by Gajendra Ahire. It is ready for release now and I have started its dubbing. I also have Viju Mane’s Chuk Bhul Dyavi Ghyavi. But my biggest upcoming flick is Nikhil Mahajan’s Baji, which is releasing on February 6 next year.

The third one is Aman Vidhate who is an art director for not only Bollywood films but also has worked as an art director for Hollywood films. Along with art direction he is also known for production design. “The warrior, Bluff-master” is some of his recognized films. It is said that Hollywood/Bollywood people do not wish to work for Marathi films but these producers have cleared the air of this misconception. Anup Podar started his journey with production accounts; he has also worked as line producer, executive producer, associate producer and now we can see him as a full fledge producer. He has worked for the films like “Monsoon wedding, Kuch kuch hota hai, the jungle book, Road and many moreNikhil Mukraraka is debuting as a producer in this film with these veterans.

These five producers are debuting as a producer for Premasthi Coming Soon. In short it will be very interesting to see how this people are going to use their skills and expertise to make this film a success.

Neha Pendse, more popular in south has created an image of being girl next door. Neha is also known in Marathi Film industry as a talented actress. However, she has decided to come out of this simple sweet girl avatar for her forthcoming film “Coming Soon” Paired opposite Adinath Kothare for the first time, Neha will be seen in a glamorous look breaking the stereotypical image leading lady in Marathi films. This romantic love-story is directed by Ankur Kakatkar and stars Jitendra Joshi and Adinath Kothare as leading men.

While chatting about this film Neha spoke about het fitness regime:

You have shed 10 to 15 KG weight for this film?

I always have been a diet conscious person, also I had regular exercises. But unfortunately it never helped. Then I decided I have to take it seriously. This was not only for the film, but for my own health as well. Proper diet and regular exercises is the key to good health. I wanted to look fit and healthy.

How it has helped to the film by reducing your weight?

Yes, Coming soon is a romantic cinema. It had many romance scenes. I never did such roles before.  I was paired romantically for the first time against Adinath. I wanted us to leek better on screen. My fit look actually helps the look of the character and overall film.

What was your diet and exercise plan ?

I started eating less carbs. Work out was done in the morning. My personal trainer kept changing my exercise routine. I have a very heavy body. When everybody else starts getting result in three-four months, for me it was not so easy. But I had decided come what may, I was going to continue with my routine. After six months of rigorous training, result started to show.

What is your definition of Size Zero?

I don’t think Zero fugure refers to skinny body frame. Zero figure should be curvy and attractive body.

According to you, what Marathi actresses should do to stay fit?

As compared to Marathi industry, Hindi industry has a lot of awaress about fitness. Most Marathi actresses have become diet conscious, but much more can be achieved. It is absolutely necessary to look active and confident, hence proper grooming is necessary.

This film has your various looks, which is your favourite?

I would rather like it to keep secret, otherwise it will be a spoiler alert. I have done my role sincerely and that is what matters me most.

What are your expectations from Coming Soon?

We have really worked very hard for this film. We had a challenge of completing shooting schedule in fewer days. We used to work from morning till late night. Though this is a love-story, my role had a serious tone also. Everybody has given their hundred percent, so I am expecting that audience will really like this film.

The film is produced by Wonderland Films. The film also stars Vijay Patkar, Resham Tipnis, Suhas Joshi, Anchal Potdar. The film releases soon across Maharashtra.
