Sanjay Jadhav who brought life to Suhas Shirwalkar’s bestseller Duniyadari is back with a new film based on biography of Marathi superstar Dada Kondke. Recently, Grazing Goat Pictures a film production company of Akshay Kumar announced their second Marathi film titles as “Dada”. The film is slated to release on 1st January 2016.

Our next Marathi film inspired by a man nothing short of a legend titled #‎Dada‬, said the social account of Grazing Goat Pictures. Dada Kondke shaped Marathi cinema through his simpleton avatar, double meaning dialogues and laugh-riots. He was a legend, a box-office magician and a very good film maker. His comic timing, dialogue delivery and funny gestures are still laugh-riots for audience. The film is said to be based on Anita Padhye’s book “Ekata Jeev” a biography of Dada Kondke.

This is second Marathi film being produced by Akshay Kumar. Earlier he has produced critically acclaimed 72 Mail: Ek Pravas.

Filmmakers have yet not declared who will be playing role of this charismatic character. We will keep you posted about any further developments.

Recently Bollywood actor and producer, Akshay Kumar met the little stars of his and Ashvini Yardi’s first Marathi production under Grazing Goat Pictures, 72 MILES – EK PRAVAS in Mumbai.

The child actors namely Chinmay Sant playing Ashok, Chinmay Kambli as Rannu, Sharavani Solaskar playing Baiji and Isha Mane as Bhimi,  put in extra efforts to dress up for their very special meeting with their producer, Akshay Kumar.

Shravani ensured she wore something pink since as per her observation, Akshay’s co-star Asin in a recently released film wore a lot of pink so she assumed it was Akshay’s favourite colour. Isha on the other hand wore a purple jacket , purple being her favourite colour whereas Chinmay Sant chose to ape Akshay’s style in his upcoming film, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara, completing his look with a similar haircut and shades. And Chinmay Kambli chose to wear his lucky shirt with the no. 35 printed on it, since it adds up to 8 and 8 is his lucky number.

Akshay Kumar met the four kids, briefly chatted with them in Marathi and posed for pictures.

After taking the world by storm with their first Bollywood Film Production Oh My God (OMG), Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi are on a journey of creating milestones in the entertainment industry with their latest venture, 72 MILES: EK PRAVAS

The film has been shortlisted to be screened at Europe’s No. 1 Festival for Indian Indie Cinema – The ‘London Indian Film Festival’ (LIFF). LIFF will be attracting international audiences for a screening of the film on 20th July in Central London, with support from partners including the BFI, Cineworld, Grange Hotels, ICA, BAFTA, Satyajit Ray Foundation and ZEE TV. Other regional film to be screened at the LIFF are Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali and Urdu all with English subtitles to connect to an international audience.

The film which is the duo’s debut into Regional Film production has been stirring waves with its conceptual excellence and moving screenplay. A hard-hitting, poignant tale of a young boy who makes his journey into self-actualization against the backdrop of a rustic India, 72 Miles Ek Pravas, explores a beautiful, coming of age journey for the 13 year old boy Ashok and the companionable relationships he makes through his journey.

Akshay and Ashvini are confident that their film will touch the hearts of audiences and give them a visual introspect of Ashok Vatkar’s autobiography. Inspired from the novel with the same name, 72 Miles Ek Pravas explores the impact of a woman named Raddhakka, on protagonist Ashok..

The release date of Akshay Kumar’s Marathi production venture 72 Miles Ek Pravas, which is being co-produced by Ashvini Yardi and directed by Rajiv Patil, has been postponed.

The proportion of erstwhile 30-40 films in a year has now reached up to nearly 80 to 100 films in the recent years. This has invariably resulted into a higher competition in the market of Marathi feature films too. Since 3 to 4 films are being released on the same day, the respective film producers too are being seriously affected by this trend, as a result of the audiences and theatres being divided among these concurrently releasing films. 26th July too was going to witness a release of three big banner Marathi films. These included a Marathi film ‘72 MILES: EK PRAVAS‘ produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashwini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures. It based on novel ’72 Miles’ written by Ashok Vhatkar & Directed by Rajiv Patil.

But now the date of release of this ambitious film has been postponed in order to avoid the aforesaid disaster of the division of the audiences and also the theatres. Therefore now this film ‘72 MILES: EK PRAVAS‘ is going to release on 9th August instead of its previously scheduled date of 26th July. This information was communicated by Mr. Jayesh Muzumdar, the director of the Commercial and Regional Films Division of Viacom18, the company looking after the distribution and presentation of this film.

While giving more details in this context Ms. Ashwini Yardi of the ‘Grazing Goat Pictures’, said, ‘After presenting a hit film in Hindi like ‘Oh! My God‘, the production company ‘Grazing Goat Pictures’ has stepped into the segment of Marathi films through the film ’72 Miles– Ek Pravas’. The Marathi audiences are always known to be choosing the films that contain subjects of some vital substance. The Marathi audiences have always accorded their first preference to the films that present a social reference blended with entertainment. The film ’72 Miles– Ek Pravas’ contains both of these elements and it is for this reason this decision has been taken so that the film can attract highest possible audiences as well as it shall be able to released at highest number of theatres at a time’.

A new year is all about new beginnings likewise, Tanishaa is all set to venture into a completely new territory – Marathi cinema. The film in question is tentatively titled ADHANTARI and will be produced by Akshay Kumar & Ashvini Yardi‘s production house, Grazing Goat Pictures. The film will be extensively shot in London and Pune, directed by Gauri Sarwate.

The film will see well-known theatre & TV actor, Sumeet Raghavan opposite Tanishaa and the shooting of the film will commence from April.

”We are very excited about our second Marathi film after 72 MILES-EK PRAVAS. We will shoot it on a huge scale and it only shows how Marathi films are getting bigger,” says Yardi.

For Tanishaa, the films hold sentimental value. ”It’s a very hard-hitting subject. I can confidently state that it’s a present for my mother,” added Tanishaa.
