A few years back Zee Marathi’s prestigious award ‘Zee Gaurav’ got split into ‘Zee Chitra Gaurav’ & Zee Natya Gaurav’. Hence we are now enjoying exclusive celebrations of Marathi Cinema & Marathi Theatre respectively. 

This year’s Zee Chitra Gaurav truly celebrated & honored the best of Marathi Cinema. Sairat as expectedly got the most awards in total 8, but unlike other awards Zee Natya Gaurav also honoured other great works of the year. Pushkar Shrotri’s upcoming production ‘Ubuntu’, Sunil Sukthankar-Sumitra Bhave directorial ‘Kaasav’ & Samit Kakkad’s ‘Half Ticket’ also won major awards. 

Artists like Prajakta Mali, Shruti Marathe, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Rasika Sunil, Sonali Kulkarni, Prarthana Behere & Vaidehi Parshurami performed on the prestigious Zee Gaurav stage! Alongside them Abhinay Berde gave a tribute to his father & our beloved superstar Laxmikant Berde. Lakshya’s heroines Varsha Usgaonkar, Kishori Shahane, Kishori Ambiye & Nivedita Saraf. Veteran filmmaker & actor Mahesh Kothare also joined Abhinay in this special tribute to ‘Lakshya’.

Last but not the least the most memorable moment of the evening was when the lifetime achievement award was given to senior Marathi-Hindi actress Seema Deo. Another living legend of Marathi Cinema gave this prestigious award to Seema Dev. Seema Dev has worked in unforgettable films like ‘Jagachya Pathivar’, ‘Pathlag’, ‘Anand’ & many more in the period of more than 4 decades. 

This year’s Zee Chitra Gaurav ceremony was hosted by the effortlessly funny Sumit Raghvan & Priyadarshan Jadhav & you can watch it on 26th March, Sunday at 7 pm only on Zee Marathi & Zee Marathi HD.

Zee Marathi recently held a star-studded event to honor best in films for its prestigious Zee Gaurav Awards. In this award ceremony Lavani quees Sulochanatai Chavan was felicitated as Lifetime Achievement Award by State Cultural minister Vinod Tawade.

In other awards, Elizabeth Ekadashi won an award for Best Film. Killa won six awards including special jury award. Out of 61 films considered for the award, Lai Bhari, Elizabeth Ekadashi, Classmates, Poshter Boyz, and Lokmany – Ek yugpurush had a tough fight between them.

Riteish Deshmukh took the trophy of Best Actor home. Subodh Bhave was given Special Jury award for his portrayal of Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Lokmany – Ek Yugpurush. Best Actress award was given to Tejaswini Pandit for Ticha Umbaratha, while Special Jury award was given to Amruta Subhash for her sensitive role in Killa.

Sulochanatai was overwhelmed with the response given by the audience when she hummed a few lines from “Fad saambhal turyala ga aalaa”. While accepting the award she said, “Many music directors made my career. I thank all these music directors. I am also grateful for my husband Shyamrao Chavan who gave me this lavani style.”

Sonali Kulkarni, Bhargavi Chirmule, Mansi Naik, Pooja Sawant and Smita Tambe performed on various legendary lavani od Sulochanatai.
The anchoring was done by Dr. Nilesh Sable and Sai Tamhankar. Bhau Kadam, Sagar Karande, Kushal Badrike and Shreya Bugde performed skits.
