After the news of Sangram Salvi & Khusbhoo Tawade’s engagement another Marathi artist got engaged recently. Rasika Vengurlekar aka Renuka from Zee Yuva’s Freshers recently got engaged to the director of Freshers Anirudha Shinde!

Many of the Freshers’ cast & crew were present for the engagement ceremony to wish Rasika & Aniruddha. Siddharth Khirid aka Neerav, Rashmi Anpat aka Manava, Onkar Raut aka Dhaval, Amruta Deshmukh aka Pari, Mitali Mayekar aka Sayali & Ruturaj Shinde aka Chakrya.

Rasika Vengurlekar’s first important role was in Star Pravah’s Devyani serial. But her next role in Zee Marathi’s game changing youth oriented serial ‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’ made her famous among the Marathi audiences. Her character ‘Pragalbha’ was probably the funniest character in the serial & became hugely popular.

It is common knowledge by now that that Zee has come up with a new channel to target just the youth –Zee Yuva. One of their flagship programs is going to be the serial Freshers. As the name would suggest, Freshers is about the life and times of a bunch of young girls and boys who have just ventured into the world of college.

The title song composed by Amitraj, who has given us a superhit song like “Tik Tik Vajate Dokyat’, has already become a hit among the youth. Amitraj, Aarati Kelkar, Harshwardhan Wavare and Kasturi Wavare have sung the song whose lyrics have been penned by Valay Mulgund.

The video gives us a glimpse of the exciting world in store. The enthusiasm and dreams of young men and women; the beauty of first love; the bonding between friends; the video shows us all. The overwhelming feedback on social media is proof enough of the video being gladly lapped up by everyone.

The song includes the seven characters Manva Raje (Rashmi Anpat), Pari Deshmukh (Amruta Deshmukh), Renuka Bhilare(Rasika Vengurlekar), Sayli Bankar(Mitali Mayekar), Nirav Desai (Siddharth Khirid), Samrat Patil(Shubhankar Tawde) and Dhaval Mithbavkar(Onkar Raut).

The brand Zee is synonymous with providing entertainment to the whole country. Over the past 24 years of its flourishing existence, Zee has enthralled one and all with its content ranging from daily soaps to news channels to sports. But for the first time a TV channel in Marathi is being launched specially focused on the youth.

On the rain soaked evening of 3^rd August, the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) hosted a grand pre-launch party for its brand new General Entertainment Channel (GEC) – Zee Yuva. The channel’s first look was unveiled by Sharada Sunder, Executive Vice President, Cluster Head – Regional Channels and Bavesh Janavlekar, Business Head Zee Talkies & Zee Yuva. The evening was graced by the presence of the who’s who of Marathi Television and Film fraternity.

The event commenced with a spectacular human interactive AV which had the audience in awe. The AV traced the illustrious journey of ZEE over the years and also unveiled the launch if ZEE Yuva. The hosts for the event were the always energetic VaibhavTatwawadi and the composed and articulate Spruha Joshi. The two with their lively hosting were crucial in ensuring a smooth functioning of the event.

All the exciting shows on the upcoming channel were introduced to the audience along with its cast. The event also included live performance of title tracks of Bun Maska by Jasraj Joshi and of Freshers by Amitraj. The peppy performances certainly upped the spirits of the audience. The cast of Itech Taka Tamboo (ITT) then had the audience in splits with their live comedy skit.

The programmer Freshers is based on the life of teens who have just joined college and how they come of age in the new world. ShravanBal Rockstar is based onhatke aspirations of the youth and their parents.Bun Maska explores the world through the eyes of a lovestruck, bubbly and extrovert girl, while Love Lagna Locha is about a shy young boy in today’s world where outgoing nature is celebrated. ITT is about the journey of a guy from a superficial global world to a serene and beautiful locale.

The shows despite having youthful exuberance are still rooted in Indian culture and values. Exciting times are surely lie ahead for Marathi television.

Asian Entertainment’s ‘AVATARCHI GOSHT‘ will premiere on Sunday , 24 May, will be the main attraction and this enjoyable fare will be for adults as well as children , making it a Special Sunday.

Lost in their own imaginative world, full of bravado and fantasies are two young boys and this film is about these two boys. The story of this film is about these two boys. The two actors essaying these boy’s part are Mihiresh Joshi and Yash Kulkarni and the co-artistes supporting them are Leena Bhagwat, Adinath Kothare, Sulabha Deshpande, Sunil Abhyankar, and Rashmi Khedekar.

Adinath Kothare will be not seen in his usual lover boy types of roles but will be seen in a serious role and his character has many nuances to it apart from being a non-glamorous one. It is a first in his cherished career. The film will be beamed on 24 May at 3 pm and 9 pm on ZEE TALKIES and will take us on a journey into this children’s imaginative world. From the perspective of children, the film takes a look at blind faith in gods and godmen.

Children have always been fascinated by stories of gods and goddesses but what happens if a boy thinks he himself is an apostle of God and starts to imagine himself as one and then what befalls the boy is the story of the film. Plot Outline :
Kaustubh is an innocent little boy in his tender age. He loves to live in his imaginative world that is full of wonders and adventures. The tales that his grandma, Aaji tells him is the base on which he has built a few fantasies. The Dashavtar tales from Indian mythology are his favourite. These tales are based on Lord Vishnu’s Ten avatars. Kaustubh has also learnt through these tales that Lord Vishnu’s tenth avatar, the Kalki avatar is going to be in Kaliyuga, the modern era we are in. Innocent mind of Kaustubh, who is in his fourth standard, is captured with the imagination that he himself is that Kalki avatar. His close friend Mangya, who is equally thrilled with this idea, confirms his belief. A few incidental coincidences validate Kaustubh’s imagination. Once he is convinced, he shares this secret with Amod, the young engineering student that is a tenant in Kaustubh’s home. Amod who is atheist by nature, does not pay much attention.

Convinced by the idea of being the Kalki avatar, Kaustubh becomes so confident that he tries the biggest adventure he is possessed with since quite long. He gets injured and suffers from a fractured leg. This acts as a big blow to Kaustubh’s fantasy and his emotionally driven imaginative world gets shattered. He finds it difficult to come to terms with the reality and goes in a shell. He starts avoiding his dear friend Mangya and even everybody at his home. Observing his strange behaviour, the Doctor advises Kaustubh’s parents to consult a psychiatrist. But they don’t act upon the advice in anticipation of the social stigma.

Kaustubh’s mother realizes that Kaustubh who feels so detached from everyone, is pretty comfortable with Amod. So she requests Amod to help Kaustubh come out of this emotional turmoil. Amod accepts this challenge and in an attempt of getting into the crux of the problem, gets friendly with Mangya. He then understands that the real cause is Kaustubh’s fantasy based passion of becoming an avatar. Amod shares with Kaustubh a different perspective about the very concept of the avatar and slowly helps him come out of the mental stress he is facing. Kaustubhwith Amod’s help overcomes the depression and regains his confidence.
