Marathi Box Cricket League (MBCL) has achieved popularity with their innovative ideas. The third season of this event will take place at Kolhapur from 4th to 6th May. The announcement was done in a star-studded event in Mumbai by Maharashtra Kalanidhi secretary Sushant Shelar. Shreyas Talpade and Dipti Talpade were present for this announcement.

For the first time, cash prizes have been announced for the winners and runner ups. These matched will be played at Shahu Stadium at Kolhapur. There will be ten teams competing in this cricket league: Dashin Mumbai, Shiledar Thane, Ratnagiri Tigers, Classic Nashik, Fataka Aurangabad, Shoor Kolhapur, Kohinoor Nagpur, Ajinkyatara Satara and Dhadakebaj Navi Mumbai has been introduced in this season.

Actors like Jaywant Wadkar, Shreerang Godbole, Siddharth Jadhav, Pushkar Shrotri, Sachit Patil, Vijay Patkar, Vijay Kadam, Vijay Patwardhan, Santosh Juvekar, Sangram Salvi, Madhav Devchakke, Suhrud Wadkar, Sukany Kulkarni, Smita Gondkar, Pari Telang, Megha Dhade, Sayali Nalawade, Viju Mnae, Ankur Kakatkar, Avadhoot Gupte, Ajit Parab, Avadhoot Wadkar et al were present for this event.

After an exciting first season of Marathi Box Cricket League, the Maharashtra Kala Nidhi under the leadership of Nitesh Rane and Sushant Shelar and amidst a galaxy of celebrities, announced the second season of MBCL which will be held from May 8 to May 10 at the beautiful locales of Panchgani. Top star Shreyas Talpade welcomed two more teams namely, Dhadakebaaz Navi Mumbai and Ajinkyatara Satara into the existing fold of the eight teams.

Announcing this, actor and the secretary of ‘Maharashtra Kalanidhi’, Sushant Shelar said, “Cricket is in the blood of every Indian. That’s why, as they say, ‘Cricket is a religion in India’. The same can be said about the films. Therefore we decided to bring these two religions together for this unique sports extravaganza. The matches will take place on 28th & 29th May at a picturesque hill station, Lavasa. There will be 8 teams, each representing a prominent city of Maharashtra namely Mumbai, Thane, Dombivali, Pune, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nagpur and Ratnagiri. League matches will be played on 28th May and Semi-final & final will take place on 29th May.”

“The team owners and team identities will be revealed within a week,” he also added. He was accompanied by stalwarts from Marathi film industry such as Mahesh Manjrekar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Vinay Yedekar, Sachit Patil and Ajit Parab representing their respective teams.

What is Box Cricket ?

Box Cricket is a variant of and shares many basic concepts with cricket. The game is most often played between two teams each consisting of six or eight players. The bowler bowls the ball to the batsmen who must score runs. The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins. Despite these basic similarities, the game itself differs significantly from its traditional counterpart in several ways, most notably on the field of play and the means by which runs are obtained.

Innumerable films, television soaps and entertainment programs are consistence being made and the need for film locations and modern equipment’s is also increasing. Considering that the ambitious project is being built at Malvan. The film city will comprise of a wide variety of film locales, indoor studios, equipments related to camera, light, sound as well as studios which will have latest post-production facilities, residences for cast & crew, dining arrangements etc.

Well known Bollywood Art Director and architect Jayant Deshmukh will be designing the Film city. The filmmakers who normally have to take lot of efforts to find a good location will now find a better option to shoot their films.
