Synopsis : Someone has rightly said that facts are stranger than fiction! Can anyone imagine a husband sending his wife to a stranger for celebrating a honeymoon on the very night of their wedding? Hard to believe, right? Preciously that’s the story of the film! Gangyaa is a villager who is desperate to get married and does so at an instant without blinking eyes when he gets the opportunity to do so. His wife Komal on wedding night imposes a strange condition that they have to run away to get make out their first night. Gangyaa succumbs to her will and they elope out of house. A hilarious journey starts in the folds of night with romance and mystery. They end up at a old Haveli where they decide to celebrate their first night. At Haveli he meets a stranger who get charmed by the beauty of Komal and lays a condition to Ganagyaa that he will do Honeymoon with his wife first and will allow Gangyaa to make out afterwards. Horrified and taken aback.. Gangyaa tries to avoid the situation in hilarious situations. What happens next? How both the families react when they come to know about the adventure Gangya and Komal dashed into? Who’s Suhaag raat finally happens, is it Gangyaa or the Stranger? All the answers will find their way as this crazy, un-imaginable, comic and unique laugh riot unfolds.

Since many years, various societal issues are being showcased through the medium of cinema. Many movies have sharply presented such issues before the audiences. One such upcoming comedy flick ‘Dhingana,’ is seen unrolling the infamous chit fund scam. This movie which is made under Mamta Production, Produced by Sameer Sadanand, Directed by Chandrakant Dudhgaonkar is slated to release on December 8.

Many a times, we see people who are eager to make a quick buck falling prey to such money laundering scams. Holding on to the same issue, ‘Dhingana’ reveals the story of a youth named Rajaram who fights to lift one such village which falls prey to such chit fund scam. Whether, Rajaram will succeed in his mission or will he get tangled into this menace, one need to watch ‘Dhingana’. It will be a treat to watch this film as Bollywood’s infamous badass actors like Raza Murad, Shahbaz Khan, Avtar Gill and Kunika will be seen playing the lead roles. Also, actors like Priyadarsham Jadhav, Prajakta Hanamghar, Anshuman Vichare, Swapnil Rajshekhar and Prakash Dhotre will also be seen in this movie.

Jay Atre, Vaibhav Joshi and Sachin Pathak have penned down the songs. While, Anand Shinde, Aadarsh Shinde, Ryadni Tyagraj have sung the songs. Music is composed by Amit Raj and Shashank Powar. Hemant Edlabadkar has written the script, cinematography is done by Giridharan, Edited by Faizal Mahadik. Sujit Kumar has choreographed the songs, Sandip Inamke is the Art Director, Sanjay Kamble is the Production Designer. ‘Dhingana’ , which is shot at locations like Mumbai, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Kolhapur will hit the theatres on December 8.

Vitthala Shappath Marathi Movie Review :

Vitthala Shappath is a film that fails on so many levels that it is impossible to remember all of them. To start with the most basic flaw is the hero itself. It seems like Marathi audiences should now develop the habit of accepting incompetent actors as their heroes & heroines. However if you still have an appetite for watching good acting you could be rewarded by one or two known seasoned actors in the supporting cast.

In case of Vitthala Shappath Mangesh Desai is that reward. No matter how unapologetically pointless the plot of the film is Mangesh Desai manages to be in the skin of his character throughout. I was reminded of veteran actor-singer Vasantrao Deshpande’s little part in the cult classic Ashtavinayak. Mangesh Desai portrays a gold hearted father to our incompetent hero, though Desai’s purpose in the conflict is equally pointless as the film.  

The most unbearable parts in the film represent a very strong south Indian influence. No not just the songs, & our incompetent hero’s antics, but also the backdrop of land mafia & the political connections. In one of the songs at the background we can notice the poster of Ankush Chaudhari starrer Guru. Guru was unfortunately among the first Marathi films in the mainstream that started employing the south formula in our films. However the audiences have never shown any adulation towards the formula in Marathi especially because our audiences are already consuming the same through different multimedia mediums. Even Hindi cinema learned its lesson & put a halt on manufacturing south formula films at an alarming pace (yes they were at one point). 

Vitthala Shappath’s another primary failure is that it doesn’t try one bit to get anywhere near the real devotion of Vitthal devotees. A Vitthal devotee has enough Vitthal in himself, that he would never be in a state to fight a war just for building a Vitthal temple. Even if we forgive this error, this whole phenomenon isn’t even strong enough on an emotional level. Yes even Mangesh Desai’s honest performance isn’t good enough to establish the emotional connect. Maybe (just maybe) if this film was riding completely on Desai’s shoulders it had a better chance to make that connect.

Another good actor has been wasted in ‘Vitthala Shappath’. Sanjay Khapre as a good hearted drunk lawyer. Honestly I could see a lot of scope for Khapre’s character to be the driving force in the second half. His character of the lawyer who is supposed to save our (incompetent) hero gets a decent amount of screen time to be established. But the shocking part is that we never see how he actually saves the hero. Yes the film skips the whole court battle part, with ubrittled confidence.

The music & background of this film matches the chaotic atmosphere of the film with utter dedication. This film has been credited with a number of writers but for many montage sequences it avoids using dialogues suggesting us as if they didn’t really exist in the first place & hence the montage were improvised instead. 

The film ends on a laughable sad end that again is a poor attempt to reinforce the conflict of the film. I couldn’t really figure out why did the film hints the climax in the opening scene of the film. Not that we care, but let’s assume if an audience is really bothered about the hero & heroine’s future, they must have already predicted it, while making the exercise of going through the runtime pointless. 

Overall:

You have to be a die-hard fan of Mangesh Desai to sit through ‘Vitthala Shappath’ & be mildly satisfied by it.

Suspense thriller film 1234 directed by Milind Kavade is slated for release all over Maharashtra on 5th August 2016. The film stars Bhushan Pradhan, Priya Marathe, Sanjay Narvekar, Vijay Patkar, Vijay Kadam, Ganesh Yadav, Yatin Karyekar, Jaywant Wadkar, Pradeep Patwardhan, Teja Deokar, Arun Kadam, Mrinalini Jamble, Vishakha Subedhar, Aniket Kelkar, Anshuman Vichare, Jagannath Nivangune, Kamlesh Sawant, Guru Anand and Pranav Raorane in the key roles.

The film is produced by Kalpesh Patel under the banner of his K. P. Cinevision and Shailesh Pawar under his banner Sheetal Films productions.

Milind Kavade has always directed films which are different from the league and hence it would not be farfetched to claim that the film 1234 will be a step forward for him. The title does not let anyone get a whiff of what exactly is in store for the viewer. “There is no doubt that 1234 will set out to tell a gripping story which is daringly different. I’d say that all the actors have contributed in great measure to enhance the audience interest in the film which has a unique title and out of the box content. I have til date given a lot of importance to experimenting with different subjects. The USP of the film is that besides entertaining the audiences, the film also sets out to drive home a profound message.

Milind Kavade has not only written the subject and the screenplay but also directed the film besides writing the dialogues in tandem with Sagar Wankhede.

“Sunya Sunya Otanche Bol Saare…” is the only duet in the film and it has been sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Anandi Joshi. Lyrisc has been written by Sachin Andhare and the song has been composed by Amitraj. The duet was picturised at the Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad on Bhushan Pradhan and Priya Marathe. Choreography for the film has been done by Bhanu of South. Sentanio Terezio has cranked the camera. Sandeep Kunchikore is the art director, Vaibhav Wagh the Casting Director and Vaishali Deshmukh the costume designer.
