Few years ago Shivsena leader MLA Nilam Gorhe raised a question on very sensitive topic of Vidarbh people facing which is still unanswerable. Taking the issue seriously writer-director Raju Meshram has written and directed the story of Marathi movie ‘Zari’ which is produced by Mrs. Radha Bidkar. Recently the poster of movie ‘Zari’ has launched in the presence of Financial Minister of Maharashtra Sudhir Munguntiwar, Revenue Minister for state Sanjay Rathod, Minister of state for Industry Pravin Pote, MLA Nilam Gorhe, Jogendra Kawade, Rajendra Gawai, MLA Baliram Siraskar, MLA Vinod Bamb, MLA Ramesh Shendge, MLA Narsaiyya Adam, MLA Laxaman Tayade, MLA Subhash Thackrey, Former chief secretary J. P. Dange, Actor Anant Jog, Milind Shinde, Tukaram Bidkar, Nisha Parulekar, Namrata Gaikwad and Aniket Kelkar.

In this event, Financial Minister of Maharashtra Sudhir Munguntiwar said, “Zari movie is really appreciable because it speaks about the sensitive issue of Vidharbh.”

While speaking about the movie Revenue Minister for state Sanjay Rathod said, “India has got independence many years but still there are many such places exist which are insurmountable where basic needs are not getting fulfill and this movie Zari will be inspiration for all.”

Minister of state for Industry Pravin Pote said, “Combination of location of movie, local language of Vidharbh and hardcore problems of the people in Vidharbh is used so properly. Writer-director has chosen very effective medium of movie and made proper use of it to explain such realistic truth to people.”

Writer-Director Raju Meshram said, “Even today in India there are many insurmountable area exist. People who are living there have to fight for their day to day need. Due to poverty, illiteracy, insufficient services and impotent system these people cannot come in the presence of actual flow. Some people take their advantage, make their physical exploitation, make use of their females and force them to live shameless life. But situation is always transformable when such people stands for their rights the revolution starts in form of Zari. ”

Zari- a film by Raju Meshram will be using an innovative technique for story-telling. The film will use Varhadi – a dialect of Marathi language, Telugu and Chhatisgadhi language. To make this convenient for the audience English subtitles will be used.

To make these dialogues from another language more authentic, various writers were used and then the dialogues were recorded by the native speakers and then dubbed by Marathi artistes.

The film stars Tukaram Bidkar, Nisha Parulekar, Namrata Gaikwad, Nagesh Bhosle, Anant Jog, Milind Shinde, Aniket Kelkar, Dr. Sandeep Patil, Kamlesh Sawant, Vijay Datdive, Vandana Bhagat.

Nagesh Bhosle, a name known for villainous roles will be seen an entirely different look in his upcoming “Zari”. Nagesh Bhosle is playing a role of MLA in this film, though his look is inspired by infamous smuggler Virappan. The film is set is Naxalite area and this look exactly depicts how this character is terrorizes people.

The film is written-directed by Raju Meshram. Nagesh Bhosle’s look has already generated anticipation among audience. Bhosle commented, “I have portrayed negative character in many Hindi and Marathi movies, but this character was very challenging. Though I play an MLA, he is not a typical politician. I had to show his menacing nature through this unusual look as well.”

The film also stars Tukaram Bidkar, Namrata Gaikwad, Nisha Parulekar, Anant Jog, Minind Shinde, Kamlesh Sawant.

Raju Meshram will be directing Zari, a film based on Vidarbh people. The film is presented by Anil Gavande and produced by Radha Tukaram Bidkar and Kundan Dahake under banner of T.H. Films and Siddhivinayak Infomedia. Recently, a muhurt of this film was performed at a Song recording .

At the muhurt three songs composed by Praveen Kunvar were recorded. “Hajar Jakhama Uri, Tujhe Gane aikato taree” was penned by Kishor Bali and sung by VaishaliSamant, AdarshShinde, Aniruddh Joshi and Sonali Patel. Vitthal Wagh has penned “Hiravy Gaar raanaat, nyaarach vaahoon raahil” has been sung by Anandi Joshi. Another song by Kishor Bali- “Tuhya Rupade Disate Doya Pudhe Rat dis” has been written in Vidarbha dialect and sung by Anandi Joshi and Aniruddh Joshi. Famous poet AdvAnantKhelkar will also be penning a song for this film.

The story of the film revolves around Zari- a young girl who inspires her community to become more progressive and go ahead in the life. The story screenplay, dialogues has been written by the director Raju Meshram. The title role of Zari has been played by Namrata Gaikwad. Other starcast includes Milind Shinde, Aniket Kelkar, Anant Jog, Nagesh Bhosle, Kamlesh Sawant, Mohan Joshi, Tukaram Bidkar.

The shooting of Zari will start in Akola from January.
