Plot outline : Gulabi is the Marathi feature film which deals with the topic of dance bars, the employees of dance bar industry, and the repercussions of the ban on dance bars on society.
The story shows multiple angles to a single issue and mainly revolves around Sachin Khedekar who plays an ACP along with Bhojpuri superstar Pakhi Hegde who plays a bar dancer and the system which governs them.

Veteran producer-director Guddu Dhanoa is also all set to make his debut in Marathi with his first venture ‘Gulabi’. To be released on 12th September across Maharashtra, ‘Gulabi’ is an explosive love story of an upright police officer and a bar dancer.

Guddu Dhanoa who has to his credit many blockbusters such as Ziddi, Salakhein, Bichhoo, Aflatun and Deewana, is all geared up for his first Marathi film. ‘I have been wanting to make a film in Marathi for many years and when a subject like ‘Gulabi’ came my way, I immediately lapped it up.’

Written by national award winning writer Sanjay Chauhan who is known for writing such hard hitting films as ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ & ‘Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster’ and a beautiful film like ‘I am Kalam’, ‘Gulabi’ stars Sachin Khedekar, Pakhi Hegde, Vinit Sharma and late Vinay Apte.

Songs have been penned by Maya Govind and M. Prakash while music has been composed by Dilip sen and Satok singh Dhalival. Cinematography has been done by Raju Keji. The film has been produced by Santosh Dhanoa, Aniket Karnik and Renuka Karnik under the banner of ‘Jai Maharashtra Films’.

The Marathi feature film ‘Deul’ earned a sizable success on the box office after winning the national award along with several other awards. Like their previous two films, they have continued with the effort of addressing the social realities through their latest film ‘Sat Na Gat’ too. This film is based on the work of fiction, titled as ‘Sat Na Gat’, authored by famous novelist Rajan Khan and it is release on 13^th September all over Maharashtra.

For the first time, the three leading stars of the Marathi film industry viz. Mahesh Manjrekar, Sayaji Shinde and Bharat Jadhav have come together in this film ‘Sat Na Gat’. Each of these actors is endowed with a unique style of acting of their own and followed by their separate sections of fans among the widespread audiences. Mahesh Manjrekar and Bharat Jadhav have acted together through several films prior to this and Bharat Jadhav and Sayaji Shinde too have played different characters together through many other films but this is for the first time all of these three accomplished actors coming together for a single film. Pakhi Hegade, a popular actress from regional films, is coming before the audiences through a central character portrayed in the film ‘Sat Na Gat’ presented by Devisha films. Renowned actor Mahesh Manjrekar has played the character of a police inspector Asole whereas Sayaji Shinde has played the character of an Editor of a newspaper. Bharat Jadhav, has played the role of a sensitive journalist called, Uttam Wabale. A combined production of Renuka Shankar Mitkari, Ramkumar Gugale and Manoj Gupta, the film ‘Sat Na Gat’ has been directed by Raju Parsekar.

The spicy news of Chief Minister’s village witnessing a brutal rape of a poor Dalit woman spreads like a wild fire through the Taluka, then through the district and ultimately through cities across the length and breadth of the Maharashtra state. Instead of helping that poor woman to get success she fully deserves a cheap politics is played about this while trying to capitalize on that dreadful happening in the social and political circle of the society at large. A completely realistic and psycho-social analysis of this disgusting reality has been made through the upcoming Marathi feature film, ‘Sat Na Gat’.

One more unique attraction of this film is that Nitin Tendulkar, who has established his separate identity as an accomplished poet even while being the elder brother of famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has now appeared before the audiences as a lyricist of this film titled as ‘Sat Na Gat’. Praaveen Kunwar has shouldered the responsibility of decorating the spirited content of these songs using background music composed by him and they have been recorded using the melodious voices of Shankar Mahadevan and Kavita Madhavi. 1. तुमच्या करीअरची सुरवात भोजपुरी चित्रपटातून कशी झाली?

– भोजपुरी सिनेसृष्टीत आज जवळपास 40 हून अधिक चित्रपटांमध्ये मी काम केले आहे आणि हे सर्वच चित्रपट स्त्रीप्रधान भूमिकांवर आधारित होते. मै बनूंगी मिस इंडिया हा माझा टीव्ही शो खूप गाजला. त्यामुळे कलेला भाषेचे बंधन नसते असे मी मानते, आणि त्यानुसार वैविध्यपूर्ण चित्रपटांमध्ये काम करण्याकडे माझा कल असतो. भोजपुरी, बिहारी आणि आता मराठी अशा माझ्या प्रवासात मी नेहमीच स्त्री प्रधान भूमिकांना प्राधान्य दिलं आहे. आगामी सत ना गत चित्रपटांमध्येही तुम्हाला त्याची प्रचिती येणार आहे.
2. सत ना गत मधील नामीच्या मध्यवर्ता भूमिकेविषयी काय सांगाल?

– दिग्दर्शक राजू पार्सेकर यांनी मला याआधी गग्लॅमरस भूमिकांमध्ये पाहिले होते. त्यांनी मला नऊवारी गेटअपमध्ये यायला सांगून एक दिवसाचे चित्रीकरण करन सत ना गत मधील नामी कॅरेक्टरसाठी मी परफेक्ट असल्याचे सांगितले. कादंबरीचे कथानक मला आवडलेच शिवाय या चित्रपटाची संपूर्ण कथा नामी या व्यक्तिरेखेभोवती फिरत असल्याने या भूमिकेला मी लगेचच होकार दिला. अशाप्रकारे सत ना गत या आशयघन चित्रपटातून माझा मराठीत प्रवेश झाला.

3. नामीची व्यक्तिरेखा साकारतानाचा अनुभव कसा होता? काय विशेष मेहनत घेतली?

– नामीची व्यक्तिरेखा साकारताना मला कादंबरीची खूप मदत झाली. नामीच्या स्वभाव वैशिष्टयांचे कंगोरे, तिची मनस्थिती, सह कलाकारांनी दिलेल्या सुचना आणि दिग्दर्शक राजू पार्सेकर यांचे वेळोवेळी लाभलेले मार्गदर्शन यातून सत ना गत कादंबरीमधील नामी पडदयावर साकारली. मूळची मी वसईकर असल्याने मराठीशी माझे फार जुने ऋणानुबंध आहे. या भूमिकेसाठी कोल्हापूरी भाषेचा लहेजा हवा होता, तशी बोली भाषा आत्मसात करायला मला माझ्या असिस्टंटने मदत केली. नामीच्या भूमिकेसाठी मला अनेक तास बसून ग्रामीण लुक असणारा मेकअप करावा लागायचा, त्यातही नऊवारी साडीत काम करण्याचा हा अनुभव खूपच वेगळा होता.
4. मराठीतील आघाडीचे सुपरस्टार या चित्रपटात तुम्हाला सहकलाकार म्हणून लाभले याविषयी काय सांगाल?

– महेश मांजरेकर, भरत जाधव, सयाजी शिंदे हे सर्वच कलाकार अभिनयात आघाडीवर आहेत. त्यांच्यासोबत काम करण्याचा अनुभव खूप शिकण्यासारखा होता. महेश सरांनी, दिग्दर्शक राजू पार्सेकर यांनी अभिनयातले अनेक बारकावे शिकवले ज्यांचा मला नेहमीच उपयोग होईल. भरत जाधव हे देखील सांभाळुन घेणारे सहकलाकार असून सेटवर त्यांचा वावर अगदी सहजसुंदर असतो. सगळ्यांनीच माझा पहिला मराठी चित्रपट असल्याने मला सहकार्य केले, या टीमसोबत काम करण्याचा अनुभव वेगळा होता.

5. लवकरच सत ना गत हा चित्रपट प्रदर्शित होतोय, त्याविषयी प्रेक्षकांना काय सांगशील?

– भोजपुरीतील माझ्या अभिनयाची दखल प्रेक्षकांनी घेतलीच आहे, तशीच माझ्या 13 सप्टेंबरला प्रदर्शित होणा-या सत ना गत चित्रापटामधील मराठी अभिनयाची दखल रसिक प्रेक्षकांनी घ्यावी अशी इच्छा आहे. प्रेक्षकांनी सकस कथानकावर बेतलेला हा चित्रपट चित्रपटगृहात जाऊनच पहावा आणि चित्रपटाला भरभरन प्रतिसाद दयावा हेच मी सांगेन..

Raju Parsekar’s Marathi film ‘Sat Na Gat‘ has come through being delayed on and on, once again we hear that the movie has been delayed further. Initially the movie was to release on the July 12 this year, but got postponed to 13 September. The film is based on famous novelist Rajan Khan’s popular novel ‘Sat Na Gat’.

‘Sat Na Gat‘, which is produced by Sai Shankar Films, is being presented by successful Industrialist Abhijit Gholap’s Devisha Films. ‘Sat Na Gat’ will be the third film to be released under their banner, after award winning film ‘Deool’ and ‘Baharatiya’. The film stars Mahesh Manjrekar in the role of a controversial Police officer, along with Bharat Jadhav playing a committed Journalist. Pakhi Hegde plays the leading lady in this film, with Sayaji Shinde in supporting cast.

Sachin’s brother Nitin Tendulkar is making his debut as a lyricist through this film.
