Dandit – a film produced by Ravi Bhushan Productions will be releasing on 23 October. The film has been directed by Kailash Mali.

The film is about a woman’s struggle in the society. The film stars Ashok Samarth, Ashok Shinde, Mangesh Desai, Megha Ghadge, Nisha Parulekar, Aniket Kelkar, Rajendra Jadhav, Somnath Tadvalkar, Sneha, Kiran et al.

The DOP is Arun Fasalkar. Lyrics in the film have been written by Dr. Purushottam Bhapkar and Baba Saudagar. Music has been composed by Atul Dive and Suresh Wadkar, Devki Pandit and Uttara Kelkar have lent their voices for these songs. Editing is done by Dinesh Mendge and Saloni Kulkarni. Art direction is by Vitthal Pawae and Prabhakar.

साता समुद्रापार झेंडा फडकावणा-या आगळ्यावेगळ्या `मराठी तारका` या कार्यक्रमाचा शतकमहोत्सवी सोहळा 27 फेब्रुवारी रोजी मुंबईच्या यशवंतराव चव्हाण सेंटरमध्ये दिमाखदार वातावरणात पार पडला. चिरतरुण आवाजाच्या आशाताई भोसले आणि चिरतारुण्याचं वरदान लाभलेल्या रेखा, तसंच नृत्यगुरू पद्मविभूषण पं. बिरजू महाराज, ज्येष्ठ अभिनेत्री वहीदा रेहमान, आशा पारेख आणि लेखिका शोभा डे यांच्या उपस्थितीने या सोहळ्याला वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवले. उपमुख्यमंत्री अजितदादा पवार, जलसंपदा मंत्री सुनील तटकरे यांनीही कार्यक्रमाला उपस्थित राहून कार्यक्रमात रंगत आणली.

निर्माते दिग्दर्शक महेश टिळेकर यांची निर्मिती, संकल्पना असलेल्या या कार्यक्रमाने गेली अनेक वर्षे मराठी रसिकांना मोहिनी घातली आहे. चौदा मराठी तारकांना एकाच मंचावर एकत्र आणण्याच्या या अभिनव प्रयोगाला रसिकांनीही भरभरून दाद दिली आहे.

“अमिताभ बच्चन आणि रेखा या दोनच कलाकारांचा मी फॅन आहे आणि `मुकद्दर का सिकंदर` हा सगळ्यात आवडता चित्रपट आहे,“ असे सांगून अजितदादा पवार यांनी जुन्या आठवणींना उजाळा दिला. “महेश टिळेकर हे माझ्या घरातलेच सदस्य आहेत आणि हा माझ्यासाठी घरगुती सोहळा आहे,` असे सांगून आशाताईंनी टिळेकरांच्या वेगळ्या प्रयत्नांचे कौतुक केले. या सोहळ्यात नेहा पेंडसे, भार्गवी चिरमुले, हेमांगी कवी, ऊर्मिला कानेटकर, प्रिया बापट, पूजा सावंत, श्रुती मराठे, दीपाली सय्यद, क्रांती रेडकर, स्मिता शेवाळे, तेजा देवकर, सिया पाटील, मेघा घाडगे आणि स्मिता तांबे अशा चौदा तारकांनी नृत्ये सादर केली. साक्षात रेखा यांच्या उपस्थितीत `दिल चीज क्या है` आणि `सलामे इश्क मेरी जान`वर पूजा सावंतने सादर केलेल्या नृत्याला मोठी दाद मिळाली. परंतु कार्यक्रमाच्या शेवटी मंचावर आल्यानंतर आशाताईंनी स्वतः माईक हातात घेऊन `दिल चीज क्या है` गायले आणि त्यावर रेखा यांनी उत्स्फूर्तपणे नृत्य सादर केले, तेव्हा प्रेक्षकांनी टाळ्यांच्या कडकडाटात प्रेक्षागृह डोक्यावर घेतले. `एकवेळ देवाचं दर्शन घेणं सोपं आहे, पण रेखाला अशा कार्यक्रमात पाहता येण्यासाठी भाग्यच लागतं,` असं आशाताईंनी सांगितलं.

निलेश साबळे आणि अभिजित खांडकेकर यांनी सूत्रसंचालन केले. प्रा. दीपक देशपांडे यांनीही राजकीय नेत्यांच्या आवाजांची नक्कल सादर करून मान्यवरांची दाद मिळवली.

समाजात स्त्रियांवर होणाNया अत्याचारांविषयीच्या चर्चा झडताना दिसत आहेत. या पार्श्वभूमीवर स्त्री शक्तीला वंदन करत देवी अंबेमातेचा जागर करण्यासाठी 18 मराठी तारका एकत्र आल्या होत्या, निमित्त होते राजीव पाटील दिग्दर्शित ‘वंशवेल’ या आगामी सिनेमाच्या प्रमोशनल गीताचे. मराठी सिनेसृष्टीतील 18 अभिनेत्रींनी पहिल्यांदाच एकत्र येऊन देवीला साकडं घालत स्त्रीशक्तीचा प्रत्यय दिला. अर्चित फिल्मस प्रस्तुत या चित्रपटाची निर्मिती सुनील दामोदर मानकर यांची आहे.

चांदिवलीच्या स्टुडिओमध्ये ‘वंशवेल’ मधील या गाण्याचं चित्रीकरण नुकतच संपन्न झालं. यामध्ये स्मिता तांबे, अमृता खानविलकर, दिपाली सय्यद, क्रांती रेडकर ,मेघा घाडगे, नेहा पेंडसे, स्मिता शेवाळे, पूजा सावंत, सई लोकूर, तेजा देवकर, समीधा गुर, सिया पाटील, पूर्वा पवार, सोनाली खरे आणि ‘वंशवेल’ चित्रपटातल्या अभिनेत्री मनिषा केळकर, नम्रता गायकवाड, विदया करंजीकर व बालकलाकार जान्हवी मानकर या सगळ्यांनी एकत्र येत देवाचा जागर केला. गीतकार दत्ता पाटील यांनी लिहिलेल्या

‘तूच दूर्गा तूच भवानी, संसाराची तू जननी..

या गीताला संगीतकार अमितराज यांनी संगीत दिले असून आदर्श शिंदे यांनी हे गीत गायले आहे. नृत्यदिग्दर्शक विठ्ठल पाटील यांच्या नृत्यदिग्दर्शनाखाली या 18 अभिनेत्रींवर हे गीत चित्रीत करण्यात आले आहे. व कॅमेरामन विजय मिश्रा यांनी गीताचे छायाचित्रण केले.

या गाण्याची संकल्पना स्त्रियांना सन्मान देण्याविषयी आहे. नवरात्रीतच नव्हे तर इतर वेळीही स्त्रियांचा योग्य त-हेने मान सन्मान व्हावा हा मूळ हेतू हे गीता मागचा आहे. या सगळ्या अभिनेत्री देखील स्वत:चे अस्तित्व शोधण्यासाठी इथवर आल्या आहेत. या गाण्यातून त्यांचा देखील सन्मान करण्यात आला आहे.

सध्याची कुटुंबव्यवस्था आणि त्यातील ‘स्त्रि’चं महत्त्व यावर भाष्य करणारी ‘वंशवेल’ चित्रपटाची कथा संकल्पना दामोदर नारायण मानकर यांची असून कथा विस्तार आणि पटकथा राजीव पाटील आणि दत्ता पाटील यांनी लिहिली आहे. अंकुश चौधरी, किशोर कदम, सुशांत शेलार, शंतनू गंगावणे, मनिषा केळकर, नम्रता गायकवाड, विदया करंजीकर, उषा नाईक या कलाकारांच्या भूमिका असलेला ‘वंशवेल’ हा चित्रपट येत्या 18 ऑक्टोबरला प्रदर्शित होतोय.

Story Outline :

In Kulpe village, youngsters Raghu (Amey Wagh), Mukund (Ketan Pawar) and Bala (Siddharth Menon) are the best of friends. Unfortunately, they are not able to make a name for themselves, despite each one possessing some skill. To make use of their various talents, they decide to make a movie.

At the same time, Aids awareness campaign is on full swing in their village. Hence, they choose Aids awareness as the topic of their film. As they lack a proper camera and shooting equipment, they include marriage video shooter Janardhan aka Janya (Atul Kulkarni) in their team. What starts off as a fun activity ends up being the most soul-stirring journey of their lives.

Review :

The year started with Ravi Jadhav presenting a serious social message in a lighthearted manner in BP (Balak Palak). Now, Satish Rajwade does the same in Popat. Although the topic explored in Popat is hugely different from the one explored in BP, the end result of both the films is the same. After Premachi Goshta, Rajwade has once again churned out a delightful saga, which also has a repeat value.

Like various rural flicks, the aim of the writer here is to make sure the audience connects with the characters, their missions and the location. This means that the film doesn’t follow a conventional storytelling method. But this doesn’t affect the audience in any manner whatsoever. In fact, it works very well as the writer succeeds in the aforementioned aim. The ever-present lighthearted and hilarious moments keep the entertainment quotient high.

But the bigger challenge for the creative think tank was to present an unusual yet important social issue. The creatively witty and yet powerful manner in which they succeed in their task make sure they deserve nothing short of an applause. The reason for this is that it is no mean task to enlighten, delight and entertain simultaneously. The climax deserves a special mention for it leaves you overwhelmed.

The only negative aspect that appears is the overall length of 154 minutes, which could have been shortened, especially in the first half. But this won’t trouble you much as the film never treads on a slow path.

The locations look enticing due to Bhaskar Samla’s cinematography. Music doesn’t have an important part to play but the tracks by Avinash Vishwajeet suit the needs. Thankfully, songs are used only when required. The background score too is impressive.

Atul Kulkarni shows his versatility and talent in his portrayal of Janya. His sudden switch from underplaying the character to acting loud is the best part of his brilliant act. Amey Wagh, Ketan Pawar and Siddharth Menon too play their parts exceedingly well. They are impressive in both humorous and serious moments. The unusual chemistry between the four is always visible. Anita Date, Neha Shitole and Megha Ghadge shine in supporting acts.

Overall :

Popat is yet another winner from Rajwade. The content has the potential of doing well at the box office. This parrot deserves to fly high!
