After a national award winning film ‘Dhag’, director Shivaji Lotan Patil is ready with his next ambitious project ‘Rajwada’. After successfully trying his hand in tackling serious subjects, Shivaji is now all set to entertain the audience with his first out an out comedy film ‘Rajwada’ which will hit theaters on 8th August.

Like his past films ‘Vavtal’ and ‘Dhag’, ‘Rajwada’ also has a strong social message. However, this time Shivaji is presenting it with ample doses of comedy. “It’s like sugar coated medicine. You have to reach the masses to effectively convey your message and comedy is the best vehicle,” says Shivaji.

‘Rajwada’ stars screen award winner Mangesh Desai in a lead role. After winning hearts with his sensitive portrayal of a puppeteer in award winning ‘Khel Mandla’, Mangesh Desai is back to the genre he is best known for i.e. comedy. Megha Dhade is playing his love interest. Leading comedians such as Abhijit Chavan, Kishor Choughule, Arun Kadam and veteran late artist Kuldeep Pawar are lending able support to Mangesh, Medha and director Shivaji Patil in their endevour to entertain people.

‘Rajwada’ tells the story of an ex-king who after independence has lost his kingdom. Due to his extravagant lifestyle, he has gone bankrupt and his ‘Wada’ is up for sale. In a desperate bid to save his only possession, the ex-ruler and his family go on spree of lies, creating many comical situations and total havoc in the village.

The film has been written by Arvind Jagtap. Music is by Vijay Gatlewar. Produced by Deepak Parkhe for Superpower Entertainment, ‘Rajwada’ is slated to hit theaters on 8th August.

Mahaguru, a new Marathi film which portrays the common man’s consistent battle with life through reality show is coming soon. Producer Sanjay Bhutada has handled the subject of reality shows on the Television and the controversies revolving around them for first time on big screen. Presented by Unity Prakashan Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Sachin Shinde will release on February 28th.

The film is conceptualized by Producer Sanjay Bhutada.The story of the film takes place in a village which not only lacks the basic amenities but even most of the residents of the village are bankrupt. Mahaguru is a very popular reality show on Television and a village lad gets an entry in the show through SMS voting. It leads to a beginning of a colourful game show in a closed house. People from various fields such as artists, businessmen, politicians, social workers come together. The film comprises of quite a big number of prominent actors. Noted actor Ajinkya Deo has played the role of Mahaguru and national award winning actor Upendra Limaye has essayed the central character. Another attraction of the film is that German actress Gallina Vasalona has acted in the film and most of her dialogues are in Marathi.

Along with Upendra Limaye and Ajinkya Deo we will get to see the brilliant performances of other well-known actors such as Kuldeep Pawar, Bhargavi Chirmule, Uday Sabnis, Milind Shinde, Deepak Karanjikar, Sunil Tawade, Ashwini Ekbote, Smita Tambe, Gallina Vasalona, Kamalesh Sawant. Sachin Shinde from Nasik who is well-known as actor and for directing plays has made a debut as a director. Sachin Shinde has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film along with playwright Datta Patil. Noted lyricist Jagdish Khebudkar has penned the songs of the film and eminent music director from Nashik, Sanjay Gite has composed the songs. Milind Joshi has given the background music. Popular singers Shankar Mahadevan and Nihira Joshi has sung the songs in the film. Shankar Mahadevan has sung Maharashtra geet “Shivraiyancha mard mavalyancha, Maharashtra tumcha, majha, Maharashtra saryancha.” The cinematography of the film is done by Imatiyaz Bargir and the art direction is done by Arun Rahane. Ashish Mahatre and Apurva Motiwale has edited the film. Shubash Kabara has given the major guidance during the making of the film.

Mahaguru which is conceptualized by Sanjay Bhutada will release in theatres on February 28th.

Synposis :

This film revolves around a love story of Kunal & Natasha with the backdrop of their parents’ animosity. Kunal’s mother Saraswati Desai is a fiery journalist-advocate & Natasha’s father Narsimh Korde Patil is a politician-builder. Saraswati had exposed Narsimh’s illegal land encroachment activity while he was the Home Minister. Narsimh had to resign from his post.

Kunal-Natasha’s families get to know about their affair and Saraswati and Narsimh start finding a bride and a groom for their respective son and daughter. Kunal-Natasha decide to run away to avoid the situation. Initially they find shelter at Kunal’s friend’s place. Coincidentally, Saraswati & Narsimh lodge a complaint regarding their children at Inspector Thokre’s police station who is also Kunal’s friend’s brother. He catches them red-handed but they manage to slip away.

And after this they face several unexpected situations. Will Kunal and Natasha come together? Will their parents accept them?
