Synopsis : Menka Urvashi is the story and picturization of Marathi Culture in Rural Maharashtra over a period between 1955 to 1975. Tukaram Patil, the rich and powerful baron of the village, is obsessed with power and driven by self-interest. Circumstances put him at odds with a poor farmer named Dhanaji, and he plots a devious scheme to bring Dhanaji down. As Patil`s tyranny continues, destiny intervenes in the form of a lavani dancer named Ambika, who takes it upon herself to make sure that justice is served. This movie is the first directorial effort of Machindra Chate, who is the well-known personality in Maharashtra in the Education field.

Marathi actress Maithili Javkar has recently been elected as Chief Executive Officer (C. E. O.) by state government. Moreover she has also been elected as a commitee member in the Censor Board Committee.

Maithili Javkar has acted in many Marathi TV serials, plays &films like ‘ChabuPalaliSasarla’, ‘Sansarachi Maya’, ‘Marmbandh’, ‘Mulga’, & ‘Aai Mala MaafKar’. She has also been actively involved in social work & politics. She is associated with BJP & has organized & performed in entertainment programs for Indian army.

Maithili thanked the state government as this news has made her 2017 special. Maithili feels this responsibility is like social work for her. Producers Raju Bang and Maithili Javkar will be producing a comedy play called “Chhabu weds Babu” The play is written by Rakesh Shirke and directed by Prashant Vichare.

The play stars Maithili Javkar, Suchit Jadhav and Digambar Naik in the lead roles. The plot of the play revolves around a couple living in a forced arrange marriage. The first show of this play will take place on 15 August.
