Sanjay Jadhav who brought life to Suhas Shirwalkar’s bestseller Duniyadari is back with a new film based on biography of Marathi superstar Dada Kondke. Recently, Grazing Goat Pictures a film production company of Akshay Kumar announced their second Marathi film titles as “Dada”. The film is slated to release on 1st January 2016.

Our next Marathi film inspired by a man nothing short of a legend titled #‎Dada‬, said the social account of Grazing Goat Pictures. Dada Kondke shaped Marathi cinema through his simpleton avatar, double meaning dialogues and laugh-riots. He was a legend, a box-office magician and a very good film maker. His comic timing, dialogue delivery and funny gestures are still laugh-riots for audience. The film is said to be based on Anita Padhye’s book “Ekata Jeev” a biography of Dada Kondke.

This is second Marathi film being produced by Akshay Kumar. Earlier he has produced critically acclaimed 72 Mail: Ek Pravas.

Filmmakers have yet not declared who will be playing role of this charismatic character. We will keep you posted about any further developments.

A GLORIOUS TRIBUTE EKACH SONGADYA TO DADA KONDKE BY PEOPLE’S ARTS CENTRE

The yeoman contribution by the evergreen funster Dada Kondke to Dada Kondke was valuable. Dada Kondke, who had a multi faceted personality, received unlimited love and regards from millions of his fans all over India, especially in Maharashtra, who he endeared with his comedy films in not only Hindi but also Marathi. To pay a rich tribute to the multi talented actor cum film maker, People’s Arts Centre in association with Vans Music Group, Thane have decided to hold a grand function titled Ekach Songadya at the Shanmukhananda Sabha on Saturday March 23, 2014 at 7 pm

The concept of the show has been visualized by Nilesh Futane and Prakash Shinde while Megha Sampat has been entrusted with the task of choreographing the dance numbers. On the occasion, several celebrities who were associated with Dada will be felicitated in a grand manner. Among them will be Vijay Kondke, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Chitrapat Mandal, Ashok Saraf, Ramdas Phutane, Sudhir Dalvi, Viju Khote, Raghavendra Ghadkol, Usha Chavan, Usha Naik,Usha Mangeshkar, Birbal, Manmaujee, Shakti Kapoor, Anupama Deshpande, Uttara Kelkar, Asha Bhosle, Jaishree T, Madhu Kambikar, Mohan kulkarni, Rajni Chavan, Shanta Tambe, Yashwant Balkar, Balchandra Kulkarni, Bal Mohite, Hrishikesh Paranjpye, Aruna Irani, Rahul Solapurkar, Uday Sinh Marathe, Kamal Patil, Vilas Ratte, Shyam Kamble etc among others.

A book written by Shyam Petkar based on the films of Dada Kondke will also be released on the occasion. The hit songs of Dada Kondke’s films will be presented on the stage by the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner Urmila Dhangar and the musical troupe One’ s Music. The evening’s function where different people who were associated with Dada will eulogize about Dada’s contribution to Marathi as well as Hindi Cinema and sincerity towards his work, will be compared by Pushkar Shrotri and Paresh Dabolkar

People’s Art Centre, Mumbai is an organization that has been in the forefront, as far as organizing various welfare oriented as well social and cultural events in Mumbai in order to create social awareness and spread good will as well as camaraderie. The entry to the function is free but one has to register his or her name in the entry form which will be available at the Shanmukhananda Hall from March 18 onwards between 10 am and 6 pm every day.

The Khiladi of Bollywood, who has ventured in producing regional cinema, is now also exploring Marathi literature, it seems.
Sources claim that Akshay Kumar has acquired the rights to the biography of legendary Marathi actor Dada Kondke who was famous for his double entrende jokes and suggestive film titles) for the purpose of making a movie on it. The biography titled Ekta Jeev had been written by Anita Padhye many years back and the author had claimed that despite his sense of humor and ready wit on the silver screen, Dada was not happy in real life.

The author Anita Padhye confirmed the news. She said that there is a development on her book and a film will be made by Akshay Kumar. The book was written in 1999 on the basis of her interaction with the late actor. She has total 80 audio cassettes which had 90 minutes long conversation with the actor. Dada Kondke was famous for his striped shorts and a unique style of dialogue delivery , one-liners and comic gestures. But in real life Dada wasn’t a happy man.

The official announcement hasn’t made by Akshay and Ashwini yet. But the author has confirmed the news.
