Every artist dreams about doing challenging roles. For some this ambition is fulfilled very early in their career while some have to wait. For actress Siya Patil, a challenging role has come her way through the film ‘Garbh’. ‘Garbh’ releases on 17^th March. It is produced under the banner ‘Shree Swami Vakratunda Films’ by RajendraAatole. The co-producers are Shankar Shetty (Kottari) & Raju Kotari Ajari, whereas ‘Garbh’ is directed by Subhash Ghorpade.

‘Garbh’ is a women centric film in which Siya portrays the lead character of ‘Kavita’. Siya has played different roles before, but in this film her character goes through the whole journey of female’s life. From a simple college going girl who falls in love to a daughter, wife, mother & daughter-in-law, Siya gets to portray a woman in such different stages of her life. The story of this film is written by Ramesh Tiwari& the screenplay is by Dheeraj Dokania & Ramesh Tiwari.

Alongside Seeya Patil the film also stars Sushant Shelar, Nishigandha Wad, Anant Jog, Yatin Karyekar, Vandana Waknis, Pallavi Vaidya & others. The film also stars RJ turned actor RJ Dilip. ‘Garbh’ is a well-made Marathi film on a sensitive subject & it releases all over Maharashtra on 17^th March!

Synopsis : Arranged marriage has been an essential part of Indian culture since decades, but the thinking of today’s generation is quite different. Today, the youth is more attracted towards being in a live-in relationship.

Aditya Thakur (Yash Kapoor), the C.E.O. of a construction company has similar thinking. He falls in love with his colleague, Sonia (Leena), and soon they start living together.

The story takes a turn when Aditya’s father, Amarnath Thakur (Vilas Ujawane) comes to know about their relationship. Aditya is forced to marry a girl that his father approves of. After the marriage, Aditya brings Sheetal to Mumbai but doesn’t give her the position of his wife. Sheetal tries to win him over, but he only ends up brutally raping her. This causes a a break down and it affects Sheetal’s health enormously. They go see a doctor who asks Aditya to take her out for a change.

Another turn of events takes place when Bhaskar Shetty (Nafe Khan), abducts them and rapes Sheetal. After the unfortunate event, Sheetal asks Aditya to get Bhaskar arrested but Aditya refuses to do so. Instead, he opts for divorce. However, the law requires them to to stay together before a separation.

Staying home, Sheetal learns from her neighbour that extra-marital affairs are common in the city. Does she then go to Bhaskar? What happens when or if she does? Will Aditya accept her? Watch to find out.

Director-cameraman Mukesh Mistry has attempted a usual combination of Baithakiche laavani (a traditional Marathi Folk song) and a highly sensual song for his upcoming film- Parakh Natyanchi. साता समुद्रापार झेंडा फडकावणा-या आगळ्यावेगळ्या `मराठी तारका` या कार्यक्रमाचा शतकमहोत्सवी सोहळा 27 फेब्रुवारी रोजी मुंबईच्या यशवंतराव चव्हाण सेंटरमध्ये दिमाखदार वातावरणात पार पडला. चिरतरुण आवाजाच्या आशाताई भोसले आणि चिरतारुण्याचं वरदान लाभलेल्या रेखा, तसंच नृत्यगुरू पद्मविभूषण पं. बिरजू महाराज, ज्येष्ठ अभिनेत्री वहीदा रेहमान, आशा पारेख आणि लेखिका शोभा डे यांच्या उपस्थितीने या सोहळ्याला वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवले. उपमुख्यमंत्री अजितदादा पवार, जलसंपदा मंत्री सुनील तटकरे यांनीही कार्यक्रमाला उपस्थित राहून कार्यक्रमात रंगत आणली.

निर्माते दिग्दर्शक महेश टिळेकर यांची निर्मिती, संकल्पना असलेल्या या कार्यक्रमाने गेली अनेक वर्षे मराठी रसिकांना मोहिनी घातली आहे. चौदा मराठी तारकांना एकाच मंचावर एकत्र आणण्याच्या या अभिनव प्रयोगाला रसिकांनीही भरभरून दाद दिली आहे.

“अमिताभ बच्चन आणि रेखा या दोनच कलाकारांचा मी फॅन आहे आणि `मुकद्दर का सिकंदर` हा सगळ्यात आवडता चित्रपट आहे,“ असे सांगून अजितदादा पवार यांनी जुन्या आठवणींना उजाळा दिला. “महेश टिळेकर हे माझ्या घरातलेच सदस्य आहेत आणि हा माझ्यासाठी घरगुती सोहळा आहे,` असे सांगून आशाताईंनी टिळेकरांच्या वेगळ्या प्रयत्नांचे कौतुक केले. या सोहळ्यात नेहा पेंडसे, भार्गवी चिरमुले, हेमांगी कवी, ऊर्मिला कानेटकर, प्रिया बापट, पूजा सावंत, श्रुती मराठे, दीपाली सय्यद, क्रांती रेडकर, स्मिता शेवाळे, तेजा देवकर, सिया पाटील, मेघा घाडगे आणि स्मिता तांबे अशा चौदा तारकांनी नृत्ये सादर केली. साक्षात रेखा यांच्या उपस्थितीत `दिल चीज क्या है` आणि `सलामे इश्क मेरी जान`वर पूजा सावंतने सादर केलेल्या नृत्याला मोठी दाद मिळाली. परंतु कार्यक्रमाच्या शेवटी मंचावर आल्यानंतर आशाताईंनी स्वतः माईक हातात घेऊन `दिल चीज क्या है` गायले आणि त्यावर रेखा यांनी उत्स्फूर्तपणे नृत्य सादर केले, तेव्हा प्रेक्षकांनी टाळ्यांच्या कडकडाटात प्रेक्षागृह डोक्यावर घेतले. `एकवेळ देवाचं दर्शन घेणं सोपं आहे, पण रेखाला अशा कार्यक्रमात पाहता येण्यासाठी भाग्यच लागतं,` असं आशाताईंनी सांगितलं.

निलेश साबळे आणि अभिजित खांडकेकर यांनी सूत्रसंचालन केले. प्रा. दीपक देशपांडे यांनीही राजकीय नेत्यांच्या आवाजांची नक्कल सादर करून मान्यवरांची दाद मिळवली.
