‘Halal’ is a film that speaks about some unjust customs that have been part of the muslim society. Many women have suffered because of it. Today there are many voices that are being raised against them & at this very right time a Marathi film ‘Halal’ is releasing in theatres from 6^th October. This film is produced by National award winner Laxman Kagne & Amol Kagne & is directed by National award winning director Shivaji Lotan Patil.

This film is based on a story written by popular writer & activist Rajan Khan. The film stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Priyadarshan Jadhav & young actress Preetam Kagne in the lead. The rest of the cast includes senior actor Vijay Chavan, Chhaya Kadam, Sanjay Sugaokar, Amol Kagne & Vimal Mhatre. Priyadarshan Jadhav & Chinmay Mandlekar have portrayed very unique characters in this film which they had never played before. Young actress Preetam too has worked hard for her role by living in rural areas to study for her character.

Halal, a film based on the rituals and customs was recently screened at Goa Film Festival. It was very much appreciated by the audience for its bold story-telling and content. The film is based on a short story by Rajan Khan and talks about marriage customs in Muslim community.

The film is produced by Amol Kagne and directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil. In Pune International Film Festival (PIFF), Nishant Dhapse got the award for movie ‘Halal’ for best screenplay and dialogues. “This award is a matter of glory for us and a successful attempt to spread gets a better perspective in society”, said Amol Kagane who is the producer of movie ‘Halal’.

The response of audience for ‘Halal’ screening was remarkable. Director Shivaji Lotan Patil, actress Pritam Kagane, story writer Rajan Khan and Producer Amol Kagane were present in the screening.

While attending screening Rajan Khan told this is a story of human pain and director Shivaji Lotan Patil expressed his view that this is a story of trying to change the society from women’s point of view.
