Trailer of upcoming Marathi film ‘Janiva’ is out. The movie dives into the life of a college going boy played by Satya Manjrekar who steps out to create a revolution in the society. This flick deals with the issue of mercy killing.

Renuka Shahane and Kishor Kadam who are playing lawyers are seen crossing the swords for justice. Also, promising actors like Kiran Karmarkar, Atul Parchure, Indira Krishnan,Salil Ankola, Usha Nadkarni are seen sharing the screen. While, Satya Manjrekar, Vaibhavi Sandilya, Anuradha Mukharjee, Devdutt Dani, Sanket Agarwal who are making their debut are seen playing college going kids.

Directed by Rajesh Ranshinge, this youthful social drama is all set to hit the theatres on July 31, 2015.

Story Outline : The script of the movie revolves around the fun filed life of five teenagers. Compelling, profound and complex, it is a contemporary story of a teenager Sameer Deshpande who portrays an image of a protagonist is progressive-thinking, creative, tech-savvy, yet socially responsible. He upholds age-old values like honesty, integrity and uprightness. This bunch of five is a fun loving group owns a rock band who spreads social awareness through their new lingo songs and also raises fund for various social cause and with the help of social media like facebook , twitter and youtube and other web technology they make sure that the fund raised by them reaches the right people with any corrupt interference. There is thrill and adventure which is inbuilt in them the film also focuses on platonic love angle between Sameer and his female friend and then there happens an injustice towards a victim on a social networking platform and sameer’s life takes an intriguing turn. This leads him to think the difference between justice and injustice and thus he takes a call to challenge the system in his own way noticing the fault is in system itself.

Ace actress Renuka Shahane who became the most loved household character from her role in the superhit movie ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ will be soon seen in a lawyer’s robe playing tough Indian women as a prosecution lawyer for the first time in her career in Marathi film “Janiva”.

Before Janiva, Renuka has always been seen as a sweet, charming and loved by all kind of characters.This would be the first time that she’ll be playing a character as strong as that of a prosecution lawyer and fighting for the rights for women in the court of law.

Talking about the role Renuka says, “Playing a role of a lawyer is something that I always wanted to do and it really fascinated me as I love the responsibility a lawyer holds on his shoulder and conveys someone else’s pain in the court of law for justice.”

Further Renuka says, “I personally love watching movies in which a women takes a stand and fights against the society like in the movie Damini, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Meenakshi Sheshadri’s strong character in the film and when I was offered this role of a prosecution lawyer in Janiva it was like a dream come true.”

On having Renuka as the lawyer in his film, Director Rajesh Ranshinge says, “Renukaji is a very talented actress and she plays an important role in my film, it was a great experience directing her as she is extremely effortless when she performs and she carried off the lawyers role exceptionally well.”
