Synopsis : Someone has rightly said that facts are stranger than fiction! Can anyone imagine a husband sending his wife to a stranger for celebrating a honeymoon on the very night of their wedding? Hard to believe, right? Preciously that’s the story of the film! Gangyaa is a villager who is desperate to get married and does so at an instant without blinking eyes when he gets the opportunity to do so. His wife Komal on wedding night imposes a strange condition that they have to run away to get make out their first night. Gangyaa succumbs to her will and they elope out of house. A hilarious journey starts in the folds of night with romance and mystery. They end up at a old Haveli where they decide to celebrate their first night. At Haveli he meets a stranger who get charmed by the beauty of Komal and lays a condition to Ganagyaa that he will do Honeymoon with his wife first and will allow Gangyaa to make out afterwards. Horrified and taken aback.. Gangyaa tries to avoid the situation in hilarious situations. What happens next? How both the families react when they come to know about the adventure Gangya and Komal dashed into? Who’s Suhaag raat finally happens, is it Gangyaa or the Stranger? All the answers will find their way as this crazy, un-imaginable, comic and unique laugh riot unfolds.

Youth Marathi Movie Review:

Ask any budding filmmaker and he won’t hesitate to tell you that to find a producer for a film is one hell of a task. And to get it to release is an equally difficult task. Some films are so amateurishly made at nearly all levels, that you wonder that how they got made and even released in the first place; Youth is that kind of a film. It is a rather poorly made film, but you cannot discount the noble intentions.

The film tries to throw some light on the drought situation in the state.A group of mostly privileged college kids plan a trip to a beach side resort in their vacations. Yuvraj, our protagonist, and also the wealthiest guy in the group is the son of a state minister. During their trip, the wealthy urban kids accidently encounter the drought situation in first person. Having only seen the drought condition from the comfort of their homes on the tv, they are all deeply disturbed by the massive disparity. The conscience of Yuvraj awakens and he decides to do all he can to help the impoverished and troubled villagers. The rest of the gang also joins Yuvraj in his effort. Their work gains popularity and also media attention. This has repercussions on the politics of the state and affects Yuvraj’s father directly. Youth then has a major twist in the plot.

Youth does have noble intentions of putting into focus the plight of the drought stricken rural Indians and the measures that can be taken to avoid recurrence of the drought. But the film goes about doing this in a rather preachy manner. There is a lot of talk in the film. Andto make it worse the acting is uniformly poor by the main actors apart from Vikram Gokhale and Satish Pulekar. It is also a poorly made film. The staging of the scenes is so poor that very few even hold your attention.Despite the director also editing the film, the film isn’t sharp as expected. After the film ends you do get a feeling that disservice has been done to such a serious and relevant subject.

Overall:

The film does disservice to a serious subject like drought, with its bad filmmaking and poor acting.

Youth, a new film by Rakesh Kundalkar is ready for the release on 20th May. The film stars Vikram Gokhale, Akshay Waghmare, Neha Mahajan. Akshay Mhatre, Meera Joshi, Shashank Jadhav, Ketaki Narayan and Satish Pulekar.

The film deals with the water crisis in rural Maharashtra and how a group of urban youth tries to aid in this time of draught. However, the group does not understand the local dynamics of the politics and faces many threats during this social work. The film has a very serious tone and speaks about the actual changes done by the youth of this generation.

The film has been produced by Sundar Sethuraman. Story-screenplay and dialogues are penned by Vishal & Yuugg. The DoP is Chetan Shinde. The film will be releasing on 3rd June all over Maharashtra.
