Koti – a film about transgender has received appreciation in many film festivals is ready for its theatrical release very soon. The film is directed by Suhas Bhosale. His recently released Reti has received positive feedback from the critics.

The film stars Adnyesh Mudshingkar, Divesh Medge, Sanjay Kulkarni and Vinita Kale in important roles.

The film has won many awards including Indian Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the IndIan Panorama category, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Jury award,  Sanskruti Kaladarpan Puraskar Award for Special  Attention Film Award along with  four other awards in the same awards, and five awards in Kolhapur Film Festival.

The story revolves around two brothers who share a sensitive relationship and how they fight against societal norms. Barring a few exceptions such story on transgenders has not come in Marathi films and KOTI is going to make a mark with his subject.

The story screenplay and dialogues of the film are  by   Rajesh Durge. The DOP is Bharat R Parthsarathi. The music composer is Manoj Negi and background music has been composed by  Baban Adgale and lyrics are by Sanjay Navgire. The editor is Sagar Vanjari and the executive producer is Shankar Dhuri, and the art director is Devdas Bhandare.

This different ‘genre’ of film is all set to release soon!

Synopsis:

This is a story of family, caught in a dilemma of social burden love. Sham, elder son’s behavior is feminine. Father who is not able to face this social burden, decides to send away from family. But Babhrya who is younger son loves his brother so takes a stand to resist father and society and Sham caught in dilemma of gender identity and love and anger of father takes a step.. This is the tragic story of an innocent transgender of rural Indian society and its social manners.
