Very few times we see sports movies in Marathi cinema & more often we do see films about school going teenage friends in Marathi cinema. ‘Sur Sapata’ seems to have brought together these two opposites poles of Marathi cinema together! Along with a terrific star cast that includes the like of Upendra Limaye, Praveen Tarde, Govind Namdeo & Sanjay Jadhav!
The lead characters played by teenage actors also seem very real & everyone looks perfect fit in their roles. The best part of this film that can be made out from the trailer is that it has merged the whole ‘Kabbadi’ track of the film with the social backdrop of the film. As the film is set in a village & the whole social history of the village & the school has been used in the story line!
‘Sur Sapata’ also seems technically smooth & the action scenes involving ‘Kabbadi’ have been beautifully captured as evident from the trailer. The songs of the film too have been beautifully picturised. All in all ‘Sur Sapata’ truly lives up to it’s name & promises to be a ‘Sur (Sair) Sapata’ for the audiences!
