SuperStar Sachin Pilgaonkar to Surprise with new look in Sangto Aika

Sachin Pilgaonkar…a name that takes us all back to him being the blue eyed child actor from the black and white cinema days to him gradually emerging as the leading man in Rajshri productions’ blockbusters. A house hold name that is associated with quality entertainment, he has a career spanning more than 50 years in the 100 years of Indian cinema. From Meena Kumari to Sanjeev Kumar, Kishore Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan – he has worked with the who’s who of the film industry.

Sachin Pilgaonkar has never stopped trying different things be it acting, directing, dancing or singing. He has directed more than 21 feature films out of which 19 have been jubilee hits in Marathi. He has rendered quite a lot of songs including the current hit of Duniyadari. He, along with his wife, Supriya Pilgaonkar, has been the winner of the first season of Nach Baliye (a reputed dance reality show on Sony TV).

Such is the charisma of this man who never stops surprising people. He is one of the favorites amongst the audience and even after achieving so many laurels he never stops trying to reinvent himself.

In his upcoming Marathi film “Sanngto Aika”, produced by Landmarc Films and directed by Satish Rajwade, Sachinji sports a look he has never tried before – a salt and pepper hairdo, a moustache and a beard. A star of his stature agreeing to do so for the first time in his long, illustrious career means something and speaks volumes of the character and the script.

He took a break from all his other work and social engagements to grow a moustache and a beard exclusively for this film and the audience will get to see him in a never donned before avatar. He carries this rustic appearance with equal ease and panache and it makes him seem stronger is what Satish Rajwade had to say about it. The look was a vital requirement for the character and Sachinji readily agreed to do so. He is so open to ideas and suggestions even at this stage of his career; that’s what makes him a Super Star. From rendering hits as a director to working as a hungry actor under a director he has undergone the transformation effortlessly. I am sure this look will be much talked about and people will love this new age Sachin Pilgaonkar too.
