Sumeet Raghavan all set to make his debut in Atul Kale’s ‘Sandook’

Orangen Entertainment is extremely pleased in announcing its forthcoming Marathi film titled ‘ Sandook ’ directed by Atul Kale, produced by Vishu Gaikwad along with Mandar Keni .

‘Sandook’ is a comedy film set in the pre independence era with Sumeet Raghavan playing the lead in the film for the first time. The film is slated to go on floor in April with an ensemble cast featuring Sharad Ponkshe, Arun Nalawade and Anand Ingle.

After a string of successful films like ‘Matichya Chuli’, ‘De Dhakka’, ‘Shahanpan Dega Deva’, ‘Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap’ and ‘Asa Mee Ashi Tee’ director Atul Kale said ‘Sandook’ has always been my dream. If given a choice, Sandook would have been my first film, Its taken me more than twelve years to realize it; I am extremely excited to make my dream a reality and couldn’t have asked for better cast and crew. Sumit and me have been friends more than twenty years and he was my first and only choice for Sandook.

Commenting on this development Sumeet Raghavan said “ Its been a coup of sorts; 1) I am doing my first marathi film; 2) with my friend Atul who has been a chuddi buddy; 3) It’s a huge project, an ambitious one and I am really looking forward to a fantastic shooting schedule with a bunch of like minded blokes. Last but not the least it has been worth the wait for sure; ‘Amen!”.

Vishu Gaikwad said “After the success of Yedyanchi Jatra in 2011; we at Orangen Entertainment were looking for the right film to be associated with and the way ‘Sandook’ has shaped up, Mandar Keni and I are very confident that the audiences all over are going to love our offering. It’s taken us two years but with ‘Sandook’, It has definitely been worth the wait. Its rich in content, high on humor, packed with action and what makes the film stand out is they very fact that it is set in the pre independence era. We are very confident that Sandook is going to be loved by one and all.”

Atul Kale, Ashish Raikar and Subodh Khanolkar have written the screenplay for Sandook; Hrishikesh Joshi has penned the dialogues.

The film crew boasts of Ajith Reddy helming the direction of photography, Mahesh Kudalkar as the art director, Mahesh Sherla doing the costumes, Ajit – Sameer have been roped in to do the music, fight master Pradyuman Kumar would be designing all the action sequences and Umesh Jadhav would be choreographing the songs; The lyrics have been written by Guru Thakur.
