After entertaining the audiences with two blockbusters (as director) first ‘Deool Band’ & the recent ‘Mulshi Pattern‘ Praveen Tarde is all set to direct his third film ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao‘ which he recently announced on social media! After a devotional drama, crime thriller he is now venturing into the genre of historical epic with the story of Hambirrao Mohite, the Maratha warrior who was the commander-in-chief, Duke of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
This proves that Praveen Tarde can work on completely different subjects as a filmmaker. He used the phrase ‘Nati Nahi Maati Japnara Yoddha’ in his Facebook post as Hambirrao took the side of the king against his own sister who was wrong! This sister was no one but Soyrabai, Sambhaji Maharaj’s step mother! The audiences are already aware about Hambirrao & these characters as currently they are watching a popular T.V. serial about them!
Hence it would be interesting to see if the audiences respond positively or negatively towards this film’s announcement as the subject is already been shown on the small screen. Though we believe that no matter what a well made film about our historical characters will truly be exciting to watch on the big screen! And the recent success of ‘Farzand’ proved that the audiences do want to watch such historical epics!
